                the "australian" is basicly a "GTO" i believe.
                the ford products in europe are produced with different safty regulations. they wont pass our regulations. that also contributes to the way they look. as they configure the pieces, they introduce them into our market. the 09 focus looks very much like the one's you posted. the fiesta's pretty sweet for a little car.....

                            there some difference, but the europeans are more severe,
                            the european rules for pollution are like 100 times stricter than California.

                            I think more it is a lack of willingness of the executives

                              that, i honestly dont believe. it would stand to reason that if they had to build them for strictor than necessary regulations, then they'd have to price them higher in north america. they have a hard enough time competing with the jap's in the price game with the obligations they have to retirements and pensions/medical and what not, i dont think they can afford it. if they could produce 1 focus for all markets, it would certainly be in their best intrest to do so. just makes sence.
