did i hear honda/toyota/mazda are seeking bailout money from japan??!! no way!!! i certainly hope the japanese government are not stupid enough to support such a handout. if these automakers mis-management, and their in-ability to produce a product that people would actually buy, isnt enough to keep the doors open, then i say, let them close!!!

aparently you don't know how Japanese owned companies work. The Japanese have been subsidizing companies for years so that they can lead the way in R&D and be frontrunner's. They will most likely get the money. I couldn't see Mazda getting it though as they are owned by ford.

james, aparently you havnt been folowing my post's and threads on this subject...I'M the one thats been telling people that they (japanese govn. subsidizes them) since the issue of the domestic auto's needing a bridge loan came up!! this thread is a sarcastic shot at all the people that used the "foriegn manufactures are doing fine" and the "they are ran better, with better products, so they do need a loan" arguments....i guess they some how got shyty products and poor management in the last 4 mo's.
fords share in mazda WAS 33%. mazda purchaed 20% of it back recently (think about 4 mo's ago)...they'll get the money, just like the rest, without all the braindamage we put our manufactures through. i bet they even get to keep their planes!!!

oh, but ofcourse!!! the proof in that is that they are self sufficiant...oh wait..what i mean is they dont need government....no...that aint right either...ummm...with all there pension obligations...oh wait...that aint even them....
yea...i guess i dont realize. ran better how? ran smaller? becouse, when that was true, they had less obligations and were ran tighter..now..toyota quality is dropping like a rock as their production goes up. soon, their pension obligations will cath up to them (not nearly as bad as domestic, but it will happen)...no...ran smaller, not all that better...just better controled, which is drawing to a close
