as a guy who spent his days in the finance world and with specialised reading an journald, about 95% of all specialized publications are saying the recession should end by spring, when the mass media is still spreading that we will all die

I had heard it should begin to slowly turn around this Summer, but the change will be measureable only through obscure economic calculations - meaning we won't really notice for a while. But more recently I heard that this forecast must be revised to point to a date in mid-2010 . . . what do I know though? I'm not an economist. What I know is that my profession sucks right now (even good companies are having to lay-off employees), and it will be quite a while before the upswing translates into rehiring. I hope that is wrong, but it seems that we haven't reached the bottom of this recession with Summer just a few months away.

we shall see how we handle $5.00 a gallon for gas this summer. They are slowly dialing the price back up so we wont be totally blindsided when it hits $5 in June.

actuly. it's been dropping again here this week. it hasnt been over 2.00 a gal for the whole winter, last week it was 1.91-1.98 and today it's down to 1.75!!
i agree it'll be going up again, but i'm not convinced we'll see 5$ a gal again. i dont think there will be as much summer travel this year
