Dime a dozen. Typical Christian Republicans. The Christians in this country have helped ruin the republican party. They isolate other small government supporters with their suggestion that Christianity should be intertwined with our government and that Christianity is our nationalism and that the Bible is as sacred as our secular governments bill of rights.

Interesting take on the video Klash. Personally I think the Christan have ruined a lot more than the republican party but that's another topic.
I actually saw this as more of an anti-government message as it is currently and more of a message of governmental change witha partiotic slant. But what do I know.

Aside from a couple of the singers I dind't get a religious over tone from it at all. I suppose it could be taken that way depending on the mindset when viewing.
I took it as hey - the Gov. has facked us long enough and made a mockery out of the Consitituion so bad, it's time to get back to what the founding fathers had in mind.

Of course that's the mindset I've been in for quite a few years so that's the angle I saw.

Hey Klash -
I got into this discussion on the board that I first saw this posted at and the OP also saw the religious overtones to the whole thing.
After reading the words I think it's a bit mixed but definitely there - in the chorus, not so much in the verse.
So - Thanks for pointing that out.

I guess one could look at it a coupld of different ways.
I'm planning an email to the songs writer just for sh!ts and giggles to see what he intended by the song. LOL!!

I saw some slight religious overtones but nothing major. I jhave no prollem with Religion as long as its peaceful and doesnt try to force itsself on people.

I saw a video that simply told of a changing America and one that we need to all stand up for what we believe in because we are on the verge of losing it.

I can't remember the specific words in the video but I didn't think it was "my bible is the bill of rights"; I think it was more like "My Bible and the Bill of Rights", in which I interpreted as the Bible is as important to this nation's government as the Bill of Rights. Which yeah I agree with Born Again American that this country has lost it's way but I think it is partly due to people like this, who try to redefine the intentions of this secular government.

the words and music have it as you listed - the Bible AND the Bill of rights.
They changed the original songwriters words.
That's the kind of shit I can't stand.

I think you and I agree on this quite a bit on this type of thing.
