My question is how do these manufactures and some of the sponsors that are in real financial trouble like CAT, give millions of dollars to these teams when they are laying people off by the thousands?
And I do like Nascar and no I'm not a redneck!!!!

Im old skool, I liked Richard Petty, Buddy Baker, Kale Yarbourogh. sometimes I'll watch it but usually if it's a big race..hey it's American so why not ?

not to defend anyone in the corporate world but for most of the companies that sponsor a nascar driver that is there entire fiscal years budget for advertising. Think about it they could buy some commercials every now and then and maybe some news ads or they could sponsor a car on one of the most watched sports in the world. And keep in mind the company that sponsor drivers are usually the same company's that 90% of the fans that watch nascar use there products. in my opinion it is pretty damn smart for them to sponsor a nascar team.

yea its american but so is baseball which is almost as boring as nascar but at least you can see the athletes in action..nascar all you see is machine going round and round...somebody help me here...lmao...

Id rather watch poker after dark at least you can see people like Mr. Kotter(gabe kaplan) and Jennifer Tilley in action. hey Texas Hold-em is american

Daytona 500 was the first time in 44 years a Petty wasnt in the race. My dad is old skool too.....loves Petty. Get rid of the pretty boys. Use Kenseth and Edwards as examples. They dont crave the spotlight. Kenseth almost cried when he won Sunday. Where is the humility anymore?

Ok, I went to a stock car race once for the fourth of july and it was fun. But damn, it was so loud I couldnt eventalk to my date...we were wearing ear plugs... ok, so its ok in person once ever few years but on tv nascar is terrible and id rather watch paint dry

I grew up in the heart of NASCAR country. Have liked it up untill they started with the car of tomorrow to try to balance the competition. To me, that has caused a down turn in the sport. I like what Dale Sr. said a few years before he died. " Move the spectators back about 4 rows, make stronger taller fences and take off the restricter plates. Run as fast as you dare. Thatr will make better racing."
If you don't think it is a demandig sport, go take one of the NASCAR driving experences.You are in a slightly detuned actual NASCAR, follow a professional driver to speeds approaching 165 on some tracks. Ihave driven at Lowes in Charlotte at 145. I am now heading to Talledega for 18 laps with speeds approaching 175. Just put yourself in a car and imagine 42 others around you at that speed only inches apart.
