    Re: CONTRACT

Dave- are you OK?? I don't care about someones feelings- Buisness is Buisness and family will screw you faster than anyone. You must be able to seperate buisness and pleasure and dealing with pleasure doesn't include the exchange of monies with family- let me just say it now. If you don't have a contract----- I TOLD YOU SO

Business in business, you are right, but I am 100% confident that my family would not screw me! We were just not raised like that!

i think baby1 answered that question for me bro...aint just "the other side" that may be hurt...maybe YOUR side that gets hurt for NO REASON...why you and some others here INSIST on refering to it as a "contract" i have no idea...it's a DISCLOSURE....it protects you and them. it proves as a reciept of sale. it acts and a purchace order. it serves as a devise to indicate to all that said vehicle is beiing sold as-is and its protecting you legaly and protecting them by disclosing the know defects so they can adress them before they get worse and can cause an accident or injury!! notice of disclosure! should they decide not to fix that probs, you ass is coverd from an outside source (insurance usually) from cominig after you....
dont think for 1 minute that i dont know how to protect myself from the legalities of an automotive transaction bro....the difference is, i know how to do it in ways that make all feel good about the transaction.

            Re: CONTRACT

The way I see it is the person buying the car should know if there is anything wrong with it and the person selling the car should not hesitate to let them know regardless of who it is. Writing a receipt for the amount and disclosing any imperfections is not saying that either party can not be trusted. I wouldn't call it a "contract". We did something like this with a family member and everything was fine, no big deal.

I wasn't raised that way either, but I have seen it done time and time again(had it done to me). If they trust you and you them- then signing a contract should be a non issue. Just say it for your and their protection- or I need it for tax purposes- dress it up anyway you like but always CYA!

                Re: CONTRACT

I took the car to a mechanic and payed for a total diagnosis of whats wrong with the car and I got diagnostic of everything and a print out and showed it to my brother inlaw and he didnt hesitate and said I want the car for what your selling it for. I wrote up a contract it was signed and no problems.the total the mechanic came up with my bro inlaw can do it himself for 3/4 less of what the mechanice would do for. the labor take out then go to a junk yard and get parts. so deal done he got a real nice car and we got what I wanted for it. But baby1 is right her family would never do that but i'm a man of principle and I have to cover my ass because theres nno certianty in life with family. anyone can change at any time but I know baby1 family wouldnt do anything bad if the car blew up tomorrow.now lets go get that 50" size tv,lol
