    should have seen that comming. Back in HS I took automechanics and for fun we would get steel fishing leader and tie it to the yoke on the driveshft and leave plenty of slack and run it up the to the coil wire for the distributor- then watch our buds try and drive off- truck would die and they would have heck figuring it out

          If you must drive over a mattress, you should........

          A) Make sure that it isn't torn or damaged ~or~

          B) Do it only (AND I MEAN ONLY) with a 4X4.

            I like what some of the people wrote about it

                I took automotive in high school and saw some pretty weird things, but this one hits a new low.

                      I don't know. I grew up working at my dad's automotive shop. Although we repaired pretty much anything, he specialized in automatic transmission repairs. The weirdest thing I've seen was when some guy brought my dad his car and said that he filled the tranny and it never shifted right.

                      After we took it out and tore it down, we learned that it was because the dum**** was too cheap to buy tranny fluid and filled the tranny with cheap motor oil instead.

                        That must've eaten right through the seals pretty quickly....
