And we haven't had one since. You're view is pretty simpilistic if you don't look at the policies put into place by previous administrations that enabled this.

The collapse of the housing market isn't as simple as who is in office. ONe must ask themselves what policies were in place that contributed to the problem. What policies encouraged lending to people who could clearly not afford the house they were buying.
