TV Power button locked! HELP!!!

For Christmas my hubby bought me a TV for our upstairs area I call it our "dressing room". It's like the ultimate women's closet. lol

The TV is a Viewsonic and it's pre-owned. A friend knew someone wanting to sell it, so it's a new 27" HDTV very nice, but the remote was lost so we don't have the TV remote. He hooks it up and get DirectTV hooked up and I get the TV programed to use DirectTV remote and everything seems to be working great... volume, mute, channels, etc.... except it will NOT turn the power off. I reach up to turn the power off manually and NO not happening.

I do get a small message at the top left of the screen that says, "POWER BUTTON LOCKED". WTF, why is the power button locked and how do I unlock it? Any ideas?

I've gone to the menu options and nothing on how to unlock. The only way to turn the TV off at this point is to unplug it. It's so annoying!

Now I know why the probably sold it. The power button got accidently locked and they lost the remote and couldn't figure out how to turn it off.

BTW here are pictures of our upstairs. It's one big room. We added a bathroom for the shower & toilet. There was an original room that we use as the bedroom. Other than that it's just one big open space, so we added closets, vanity and laundry area.

only thing i can find is some one saying to go to menus and do a factory-reset . i know that on most TVs you can unplug the power and leave it unpluged for 12 to 24 hours and it will go back to fac defaults

Ok... I'll check the fac default. It had been unpluged for awhile because it took us awhile to get a mount, etc. Unplugging it didn't reset it.

If you can find the model number, etc you may be able to find a users manual online and see what it says.

I tried to find a manual/user guide for a N2750 on their site but it didn't come up.
Not sure if that's the model or not but more than one person has had this problem.

I came up with this from on of the users guides:

OSD and Power Lock Settings
• OSD Lock: Press and hold [1] and the up arrow �� for 10 seconds. If any buttons are
pressed the message OSD Locked will display for 5 seconds.
• OSD Unlock: Press and hold [1] and the up arrow �� again for 10 seconds.
• Power Button Lock: Press and hold [1] and the down arrow �� for 10 seconds. If the
power button is pressed the message Power Button Locked will display for 5 seconds. With
or without this setting, after a power failure, your LCD display’s power will automatically
turn ON when power is restored.
• Power Button Unlock: Press and hold [1] and the down arrow again for 10 seconds.

I just hope it will work. Unfortunately the model no. on the back of the monitor. The monitor is mounted above the window near the ceiling. I'll have to get him to take the monitor down, so I can get the model no... he'll love that.

I've had to do this for everything from simple external hard drives to industrial parts that are 15 yrs old here at work.

Nope it didn't work!

My husband isn't to excited about taking it down, so I can get the Model #. He doesn't see what the big deal is. I hate leaving it on all the time. Is this just a man thing?
