  • shut off

yesturday we got notice from gmac that they have frozen floor plan. what that means is we can no longer borrow money to purchase inventory...we're stuck at 30cars for now. they've also notified dealers that it looks like they will be shutting down until the end of jan and maybe through feb. all employees to be laid off. they are shutting down (full shut down) the factory's. chrysler is believed to be doing the same. thats about 73000 employee's laid off. merry christmas!

now....i cant get inventory for the folks that have cash or bad credit. i cant get loans for folks with good credit...wtf's next??!!

oh....we got computers.....so, i got that going for me. now, with a little privacy, i can come on here and whine more often...yeaaaaa

    Re: shut off

man, I keep seeing this morning how an "orderly bankruptcy" is in fact the best thing for the automakers. The only people that say that's not an option are the ones who'd either be cut ot take a pay cut, which are top level management & CEO. That's why we're hearing that from GM, of coarse...I would be saying that too if I knew it meant I'd be replaced.
That's just what the professor/lawyer was saying this morning. That an orderly bk would be best for the automakers, workers, taxpayers, and public. The only people that it would effect negatively are the very top management.

side note; Ford isn't even asking for assistance.

Yeah, Ford's in better shape but the problem is if GM or Chrysler go down so will Ford, here's why:
Say a supplier's biz is 60% GM and 40% Ford, if Gm goes belly up than the 40% it makes from Ford won't be enuff to keep it afloat.
They are already talking about re-opening the contracts and trying to get us to work for $10.50 an hr,now i don't know about the cost of living in your area but here it isn't going to fly.

damn bro, that's bs isn't it? It isn't the mid-level salary that hurts so bad is it? I thought it's the $23mil and $58mil/yr men that make the dent so bad.

              Re: shut off

gm's basicly out of the lending biz! they say 700 becon, becouse they got a bank to off the packages too, but to tell the truth, i think they are profiling zip codes!!! so it's 700 + live in the right hood!! also...gm dont own gmac...dont know if you knew that.

EVERYONE up here is saying that horse!!! i've been saying it's a stupid move all along! people will not buy from a bankrupt auto company...what are you gonna do "yes mr customer, this comes with a 3yr/36k mile bumper to bumper warrenty...or, until they close the doors and say fuk you"...people aint going for that shyt. also...it'll still kill the venders!! thats the biggest prob!!
you here all this shyt about the autoworkers pay...it AINT THE FUKIN PAY!!! (what do you make doink...69$ an hr!!!) it's the retiree's....so, kick in national health care for the retiree's and you'll knock they're overall compensation rate down!! looks like thats the way to go. soooo...you dont have to LOAN them money. you dont have to FORCE banks to loan money.....just raise everyone taxes to pay for national health care...problem solved! dont like that? tuff titties!!! you dont care if banks loan money, becouse your not buying one. you dont care if retired people dont have health care, becouse your not one...fuk ya. raise the taxes!!!
(not speaking to you personally horse...just saying that, that is what this nation is basicly saying to me)
thats the ultimate direction that this, very likely, is gonna head. take out the retirees and gm's compensation average is 2$ an hr UNDER toyota!!! they (government) twist the numbers to make it look like they (domestics) pay WAAAAAY too much! it's stupid,

(doink...c'mon bro...at $69 an hr, you can afford to float a brother a few g's right? i mean...i sold them fords for 17 yrs or more...i put some jack in your hip...just peel me 30-40 benji's off that fat stack in your hip!!!))

                Re: shut off

                i'm with you dave,

it is all about retiree's stuff negotiated 50,40,30,20 years ago

and the little known fact is corporate america wants the f out of the health care business all of them

gm is an example of the law of large numbers + health care + business slow down

that is how obie is going to get a national health care intiative going in his preferred direction, corp america wants out of that business badly, they don't say it out loud and proud as if they were gay, yet, behind closed doors that's all what they say, i've been in the closests listening to em, it's all they talk about

                      Re: shut off

you're making assumptions about the media, like it is there job too report facts..........NOT

there job is too attract viewers

they look for the MOST SENSATIONAL FACT THAT WOULD CAUSE THE BIGGEST EMOTION FROM THE MOST PEOPLE

ie, make 70 bucks, knowing all well avg pay in merica is around 18

so right off the board you will excite and outrage 50% of people

once some news person says it, another news editor hears it, and says f we gotta use that, and they force folks to say misrepresented stuff

which is why any company that is in the news gets fried, for awhile

and the most sector of economy in news for 30 years, cars

death by a thousand flat tires, and one big rock thrown from the bridge

                          Re: shut off

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh mr. shelby, my fellow bamian, yeah i use to live in bama

anyways, south was always non union

in fifites when all of north was unionized

the unions hired young jewish kids to go unionize the south, ie, sign folks up

the young jews having had a history of persecution saw the crap still going on with blacks

now, the jewish folks had outrage on there side, thus they ran back home, and recruited the government, which u know they are tight with because of the fear of holocaust

anyways, they break bad on the south, and we getsus are civil rights movement

the good old boys could live with that, cause actually good old boys are good old boys cause they do the right thing

what good old boys hate, and as we know hate motivates, is being told what to do, ie, the unions

so, unions never took hold down here, we are mostly "right too work states"

so shelby is a good old boy, been there 30 years, and has a microphone in his face because he is great news for news shows, he will say "bad dog, stupid dog, bad dog, stupid dog" on cue no matter what the question

shelby is angry at shelby, he feels paulson snookered em all, and he will pay for that snooker to his dying day, he did not do his duty to his citizens of bama, so he is just doing what any of us would do, try harder the next time
