Heres another thing that pisses me off: My friend was told by her boss 3 weeks ago that everyone in the company(10 employees) would be taking a very large pay cut due to the economy. Two days ago, the bosses wife walks in and shows her her brand new purse. She says "I got such a good deal on it!Normally this purse is $1,200 but I got this one for $500!"

my father in law is a ceo, and it costs them 8 times the amount to fly the leer jet as to buy a business class ticket....his company is struggling, and the planes are parked...as is HIS COMPANY CAR...he drives his own!

when they start showing a TRUE effort to cut cost and save money along with wise spending- then maybe. Hell I make stupid mistakes and ain nobody bailing me out. And by the way Dave- My Toyota was built right here in Texas- so I supported my fellow American workers. The last two GM products I purchased( Tahoe and Yukon) had to be hauled out of my driveway on a wrecker with under 30K on them- I personally told my wife there will be no other GM products in my driveway- nothing personal

ummm, how 'bout the cutting of jobs from 400k to 73k...is that not a TRUE effort? how 'bout the developement of what will be a auto that snags from 50 to 150mpg's? is that not a TRUE effort? not enough for you? you think they just sat around hoping for this day so they could take YOUR money? (money's you already had taken from you to bailout banks that still wont approve loans so people could finance cars and this might not have to happened).
also, i promice if your personal "mistakes", (i dont agree with that term 100%, but i'll go with it), has the potential of fuking up a few million jobs, then i'll support giving you a loan to afford some breathing room while the market re-adjust's. fair?

Bro- believe me when I say I understand your point. I know they cut jobs, but lets look at their salaries-bonuses-perks- did they cut anything of their own???NO! Its easy to lay off your work force to lower your fixed cost and look good on paper, but they haven't cut crap out of thier own pocket. They are up there begging for money, because there is nothing left to cut but them and they will say and do anything to NOT let that happen. Be assured- if they don't get the money- they won't go out of buisness- they will file chapter 13 or whatever and keep pumping out cars. Bottom line is- while the economy is in the crapper- aint nobody buying cars and they aren't going to need to produce near as many. As far as the MPG's- I fully DISAGREE on the Govt. having any say in this area. That should be consumer driven NOT Govt. I don't haul horses with a truck that get 35mpgs- it aint got the *ss to do it. I get 15-18mpg with my truck and I'm good with that- I don't them telling me what I bneed to drive or the mpg's I should be getting. Its MY money and if I can afford to drive a gas hog- its my choice! Now all BS asside- I feel your pain- but with the economy the way it is- housing and cars are on the front line of the effect- and retail sales are feeling it now. It still has farther to trickle down- lets just pray it doesn't last long.

why does everyone keep bringing this up. the MARKET was/is screaming for better gas milage!!! i never said anything about gov. regulations. it's not good that they develope a unit that gets 50-150mpg's? thats not going to sell?...i dont get this statement. my point is that they are reacting to the market as fast as they can. at 1.50-2.50 a agl. nobody was bytching about the trucks!! yea...they kept building them becouse fukers kept buying them. when gas went stupid, they had to change things..takes time to revamp an entire game plan, retool a entire factory and react to a market that spun around on a dime....shyt
