Ok so who here thinks that those terriorists that helped 911 kill over 5k of our people should get a trial here in the states.

Ya ever heard the saying, 'they should take an island and put all the screwed up people on it and let 'em kill each other' or whatever? Well it's a start.

I don't know. You got that whole Geneva Convention thing and all. I damn sure don't care for the thought of our tax dollars, American defense, or any other U.S. resources given to them. It seems to be a messed up process that the very thing that they hate, call Satan, and sacrifice all to kill, be their savior to set them free to fight again just as they've done.

i agree i think they should die where they are at... the prob is there is over 250 people there held without being charged or tried...

one the plans that is being kicked around is that some sorta system be put in place that they are tried there... at least if tried there they will get put there for life or even put to death or whatever

in my honest opinion no way in hell will they get tried on us soil to do that they would have to be promised a trial just like everyone else gets which means "Defendants would also have the right to confront witnesses, which means undercover CIA officers or informants might have to take the stand, jeopardizing their identities and revealing classified intelligence tactics."
so there is no way that would happen or should happen.

long story short i think they should be sentenced there somehow and either live out there days there or be sentenced and be put to death whatever the case maybe

well who is to say they are all guilty...its not like this country has never detained or arested someone who was innoncent. if they are found guilty, they should be hung on the stand

they were part of the terrorist connection

They dont need to come on us soil period.

maybe, dont know until they are tried...if they arrested you for something you didnt do, happens every day, wouldnt you want a fair trial

According to the Geneva Convention, rules for treatment of prisoners of war do not apply to the captives in Gitmo.
A prisone of war is a soldier that wears a uniform from a recognized country and fight under it's flag. None of the detainees at Gitmo fall under any of guidelines. They have no recognized uniforms from any country or fight under any one flag.
Not to say they shouldn't have a rial, but not on US soil and not under our Constitutional rights.

I believe what makes them terrorist is the fact that they were nabbed in terrorist compounds, held up in terrorist housing with written terrorist plans, bombs, blueprints and shyt. They fired on, and killed, uniformed soldiers fighting against terrorist which makes those captured and held in Gitmo terrorist. Many that have been released for whatever reason, have been redetained or killed on the battlefield, as well as carried out suicide bombings. They aren't making their way into Gitmo for nothing. But we, being Americans, and in our American and civilian ways, can't understand what's really going on over there. hypothetically, If me and you were on the battlefield fighting the good fight, and we surround a house full of men firing on us just after watching our fellow soldiers that have been fighting by our side get blown up as they pass the house earlier. We capture these assholes and seize their weapons, bombs, and hate literature. Would you need a trial to tell you that anyone in that house deserves freedom?
But, I don't expect anyone, including myself, to be able to answer that accurately. A friend of mine that I ride with did a tour in Afghanistan. It's absolutely wild to hear what they had to do. His words yesterday when we were talking about it, "You were blessed if you made it home to sleep." He said you literally look at the guys you fight with as your family, and that it turns on some wild animal instinct inside you that you never knew. just straight survival. I couldn't imagine.

most were, but alot of them were detained from intercepted intellegence...the more people Bush could brag about detaining, the better he could sell his War in Iraq

I agree with pigmeat... Prove they were connected and then cut their heads off but I don't like this detaining people when they don't have the chance to face their accusers and defend themselves.

There is all kinds of scenarios where our enemy has used civilians property and lives to advance their agenda. I don't want some innocent Al' Whatever in prison just because some dicks made him store weapons at his house.

i also agree with pig to a point. i dont think they should stand trial on american soil. i dont think they should have "open" proceding, but i think they should try to weed out the 7 innocent ones. let them all face a trial simaler to their country of origin!! thats fair, no?

I agree they should be shot if they are terrorist. Prollem is Id hate for just one innocent person to lose their life if they werent a terrorist.

So Im kinda neutral.
