  • Hard Drive Crash

Hey guys. My hard drive went on my computer tuesday morning. What a nightmare downloading all these programs again.
I had spyware doctor and had a crack code. That was three years ago and they must have closed it because it doesn't work anymore. Any suggestions for a free sypware program.

Hmmm... I'm bumping this because my husband computer has crashed.

So I'm guessing that this could be a virus? He can't even get the hard drive to come up. I haven't a clue what to do for it.

Try booting in Safe Mode or Last Known Good Configuration. To do this:

              1. Power your system on and when you see the manufacturer's logo on your screen, immediately begin hitting the F8 key repeatedly, this will bring up an advanced startup menu.

              2. Use the arrow keys to select either "Safe Mode" if you want to troubleshoot things, or "Last Known Good Configuration" to boot with the most recent settings that worked.

              3. If you can't boot to either option, chances are that your hard drive has failed.
