Most states have laws in place that require no contact with kids. This applies 24/7. If you have a kid and are a registered sex offender, should you be able to take your kid trick or treating or hand out candy?

There are different circumstances to every sex offenders story. Some are labeled that if they were say, 18 and had sex with someone who was 17. I feel there should be different levels, as in low risk, medium, or high. Im not supporting sex offenders in any way but to lump them all into one - brings the worse ones down to the same level as the ones who were punished for a significantly lesser crime.

if you are level 3 sex offender (in my state that is the highest risk to re-offend) then not only shouldn't you be able to trick or treat with your kid but you shouldn't even be able to take ur kids out of the house, hell u shouldn't even be in the same house as them. u have to be careful about the sex with underage cuz they were 18 thing too. we had a dudein our town who was on the sex offender list and the story went that it was cuz he had sex with someone under 18. but they didn't mention it was like a 14 year old who wasn't willing to have sex in the first place and could never legally give consent even if she wanted. you never know because the case is usally sealed and all they will provide is the actual charge; example: sex with a child under 16. if the dude is 18 you don't know HOW under 16 she was and if force was involved. if ur on the list suck it up and let a relative take your kids for your sake and theirs. all they need is some neighbor kid giving them shyt about their dad being a child molester kiddie diddler.
