Anyone use Quickbooks Pro for Mac?

This totally sucks. I needed a program to do bookkeeping for our business, so I bought the latest version of QuickBooks for Mac and downloaded it last night. When I try to start the program, it won't launch. It will start to come up and then closes. I called QuickBooks for technical support and they tell me that it's $359 for 1 yr of tech support. WTF? Shouldn't they at least get you started? If you go online for tech support, it's $79. Just to email a tech. That is crazy!

Is anyone on a Mac? Have you tried to use Quickbooks? I've got an old version of Quicken that runs just fine, but I need a payroll program.

nope....my wife uses pro, but we're on windows. i'm surprised to hear it's diff. their support shouldnt cost anything. she's used to website and question area before for help

**** them... I just called and asked for a refund. They weren't even will to help me out at all. I bet I never see the refund. I'll have to challenge it with Amex.

Years ago when I used to support the product, they had an add-on for Quicken call Quick Pay, so that you could do payroll out of your Quicken, don't know if they still make that or not.

We use Quickbooks Premier Contractors edition 2008 - just updated. They gave us free support for 30 days. It was very easy to upload. Snickers did it for multiple computers for me. Did you try a board that deals with quickbook issues - I found them very helpful. We dont use the payroll aspect of it - may switch to that in the future - for now - we use ADP. I would try calling them again and see where you get....maybe mention you want to upgrade - the idea of buying something always gets you through all the Indians that answer for quickbooks. It was terrible. I bought Quickbooks Pro for Mac 2009 edition. When I couldn't get the application to startup I called their tech support. They wouldn't even talk to me until I paid them the $300 for support. I spent the entire night until after 10pm trying to find some support forum, with no luck. The only I found was for 2006 and 2007 editions.

Then yesterday morning I search the net for some help, but I only got reviews that were all terrible. Tons of complaints about how bad it was... not to buy it, etc. When I asked for a refund, they pretty much did without even asking about any kind of support. They only wanted to offer me the PC version... WTF good was that going to do me I have a Mac.

The sad part about it is I have Quicken 2004 and it works great. The discounted the online support for it. Now they want you to buy QB 2009.

Last night I searched for online payroll. I got pricing on a bunch of them including ADP, SurePay, Intuit Payroll. I ended up signing up for Paycycle... spent the entire night setting up the payroll. I'm still not finished and they get paid on Monday, but I should have it up and running by then... I hope.

You just don't know what a relief is it to have that settled. Now I've got to kick my hubby's butt! He and his supervisor have just been paying the guys and not keeping up with the deductions. Our MIA account needs all those numbers and I have NONE! I think this was all due yesterday. I'm hoping we have until Oct 30. Gees... my hubby bless his heart just isn't very good a finances.
