it is so painful to look at those quarterly investment stmts when they come in the mail.
Both my kids have had 529k plans since birth. My son, at seven, lost about $3k during the quarter. my daughter, at five, got CRUSHED and lost $8k. Difference being is, when the child gets older, they move the funds to less riskier investments. My son's was moved to be a bit more stable while my daughter remained in the high risk.
there is still time though. just sucks as i have auto withdrawal each month into their accounts and to see the losses.
