stray,
your name illustrates your way of thinking. my point is that 400 years from now, our "evolved science" will look similar to that of 400 years ago presently. Again, the arrogance of assuming human logic can explain everything is ridiculous. Spock is a television character..LOL.
i know plenty about your religion...before you ridicule my way of thinking i suggest you learn more about it...which is more than 400 years...600bce...
and my name illustrates nothing...for you know not where my names derives from...
and the arrogance of human logic is that we try to find logic..instead of ingnorance and false hope because youre to weak to find answers for yourself so you rely on something less lazy to give the answer to you...
human logic..from the same logic that had the best scientists in the world believing the world was flat, the earth was the center of the universe, that the body had "humors" that had to be balanced to maintain health--all this was considered "science" and "fact"; man's "logic" is only as good as his current status of understanding. How can we know all the answers when we don't even know all the questions? to assume that human logic, understanding, will lead you to truth is the epitome of arrogance...hmm..
Ill go with faith.
Eternity--smoking or non smoking??
No one holds a monopoly on logic - not even the scientist you want to link to it and just because someone is a "scientist" doesn't mean they submit to logical. And to counter your argument; was it logic or faith that resisted the evidence that suggested these beliefs were false? It seems throughout history those that submit to faith resist the truth, even when it has been confirmed.
Your right though logic is not omniscient - we cannot learn about things that we do not know exist but faith does not offer these answers either - it just lets people believe their imaginary world exists. On the plus side logic does not detach one from reality; while faith does.
