as alot of you know. i've had a bytch of a time here at work. payroll was due to our employee on the 5th and we couldnt cover it. i pull off a couple cash deal in the last couple days and was able to put part of it together, so i figured i'd call the guy's in the office and tell them what's what...i couldnt believe it...only 2 employees said they "GOTTA HAVE IT NOW"...the rest said fuk it....do it however you got to boss. they were pushing the moms and the guys that we're really hurting, ahead of them selves. one guy, this african dude i got, wants me to donate his back to the company to make the house stronger!!!
man...talk about making you feel like shyt!! i got some great people working for me!!! i hope i dont let them down again.

also...our rep at the payroll company was telling me that for the months of aug thur current, they've lost 32 accounts becouse of biz going under!!! she said ALOT of companies are in the same boat as us...

wow! Thank God fo r those people. thats amazing! We hear peeps like rush limbaugh saying the economy is wonderful and to say otherwise is somehow un-American. Easy for them to say. Had lunch at blackeyed pea today. We used to wait 15 minutes to get a table at lunch. That restaurant was 80% EMPTY today. Go figure.

        Re: employee payroll

im trying to make payroll myself today dave....we have had a tough month at the mine...the mine is already in bankruptcy, and we are so close to getting out and had investers wanting to put 25 million in this month...but after this tough month they are backing out and want to make sure we can load our trains and fill our contracts...we didnt make our last 2 trains, and are working day to day on cash only...if we dont make payroll today i bet 505 of the employees will quit on the spot and that will def put us under.

That black eyed pea has to be barely scrapping by. Wont surprise anyone if they end up shutting it down. Yet, go to another side of town and the skyline is nothing but construction cranes. go figure.

problem is every mine here is hiring, so they dont get paid...down the road they go...i had a machine break down last night..25k for a new electrical motor, and nobody will give us credit because of bankruptcy, and 300k for payroll today...the controller says we can make it, but im on the phone trying to get our customers to expedite payment...most of them are net 30 on payments and we are still 10 days out from anything

Tough times are hitting a lot of folks. Unemployment is at the highest in 5 years but what's going to fix it? We need more job opportunities in this country and we need to make big businesses quit taking jobs over seas so the guys at the top can keep their ridiculous salaries.

i agree with that, but i dont see it stoping. one thing that'll help out this state is if the big 3 get granted that money to further develope the alternative fuel vehicles. we need to become the leader in this area. we have the talent, we have the tech. we just need the $ to put it all together and do the necc. mods to the factory's...everyone want better fuel eco. everyone want greener units....he's the chance for us to lead the way again...i hope congress dont fuk it up!

                              Re: employee payroll

Dave, you do have some great employees. I think they understand, and it great that they support you so much. In the long run if you don't make it, they are out of work. Jobs are hard to come by. Unemployment rate is 7% where I work. The state of GA is reporting it at 6-6.5% right now.

My husband has two employees, and one of them has been very supportive. His wife is a school teacher, so they at least a some income. The other is on his own, and he's having a very difficult time. He even had the nerve to ask for a raise, and he's work has been come so sloppy that the other has to go back and fix it. Both of their unemployment has run out, so they can't draw any more.

I was working on bills and his company owe $10,000 at least. This isn't including our personal bills like the three house payments, electric bills and water bills. Even though the a/c is turned off in two of the houses, we still have to make a min payment just have water and electricity. I figured up our houses payments alone are $3,000 a month. I don't bring home that much in one month.

I'm still hopeful. I really think that after the election things are going to get better. People will realize that no matter who gets elected the economy works in cycles and it will come back.
