  • Going after the young

So I picked up my oldest from school today, he's a senior in high school and required to take government to graduate. He tells me he's discovered that he is a liberal. Hmmmm. Interesting I say considering you are looking at joining the military. The very military that Obama wants to dismantle.
Well, long story short, it was back to school night tonight. I met his government teachers, 2 very nice, young women who did nothing to make you think they would pollute the kids minds with their personal political views. When they start discussing what their 1.5 hour class would entail, it became very clear. They spend every class reading the WASHINGTON POST for 20 minutes. No option of any other paper. No option of any other paper media. Just the Washington Post. Let me tell you, it took everything I had to sit there for the 10 minute synapsis of their curriculum. They showed a graph they had done that day after the kids had answered a series of 10 questions on their beliefs. ONE KID, I repeat, one kid showed to have a more conservative view. Unbelievable. Downright.

That's an emergency - get him this book and he should be cured by the time he finishes. Good luck Quirky.

you showed much better restraint than I could have- I'm very vocal on my political view and if I EVER find a teacher imposing thier views in my childs mind- they will have about a 240lb problem

yea...i'm thinking she works for me and thats not gonna be in the program this year!!! she wouldnt be the first teacher i've reminded where her/his paycheck was coming from...i hold ALL my kids teachers responsible for their actions in the class room, and they WILL act accordingly or me and the school supervisor will have MORE talks (their not big on the "more talks" program!!). i cant put up with that for 1 sec...my kid would bring in a STACK of papers, internet printouts or anyother thing he wants (or i want him too) in relationship to government reading!!! yea....me and those teachers would come to an understanding REAL quick...i promice!

I always wonder how ignorant these libs are? Do they really think they are being objective or are they intentionally biased. It's similar to a religion - they think they have a superior morality code and they have to push it onto other people but their morality code is based on a flawed premise, that government can be compassionate.

Kind of like the theists who thinks their religion is superior to others and those that don't believe in their god are lost - so they try to convert people.

I just shot an email off to his teachers, school board and the super asking why only one paper is provided to the kids. I'll let you know what I hear. BTW - Thanks for the book recommendations - I will pick them up

i agree...we dont condone that behavier at the church of dave...dont matter if you convert or not....lead a good life, and we'll be seeing ya anyways!! lol

i agree that i dont understand their thinking. i find it hard to believe that they are purposely trying to steer kids towards being a dem or repub...i just think it's a case of not thinking at all! they dont realize the stupidity in their actions....and, i'd have to call the teacher on that were it me!

not related to the topic, but my daughter started 7th grade. her geography teacher sent home a note tues. telling parents to have book covers for the kids by thur morning...so, being the good dad, i went out after work wed. and baught 3 bookcovers for this 1 class (dont know why she wanted 3, i'm assuming the teacher is starting a school store). this morning, a new note...
"sorry about the confussion, but i decided that the book covers should all be the same, so please wrap THE BOOK (yes...1 fukin book) in a paperbag book cover"
                  i simply wrote a note

"no...until i recieve re-imbursment for the 4.79 plus tax i spent on the covers and 10$ for my time and inconvenience for rushing out to get said covers, my daughter WILL be using the covers i supplied. any question, please call me" i included my cell phone...
as i always say to teachers...just becouse you got a degree, certainly dont prove your smart...just proves you can memorize shyt!
