I read that he sat there watching the kid and the vulture for 20 minutes wanting to get a shot of the vulture with it's wings spread out and then settled for this shot right before his ride was about to take off.

Supposedly the mother of the kid was not far off; she was getting rice or whatever from a U.N. food drop and that is where the kid was trying to go. The photographer covered this kind of suffering for several years and was in financial debt.

that's a tough life to choose. I saw this girl on NGHD that has dedicated her life to helping Africans caught up in the midst of the jungle 'politics'...more like rebels. But that's their 'governement'. They do whatever they want to people of villages. They do things that nightmares can't even compete with. But the woman that attemps to help is basically helpless. She keeps plugging on though. It's horrible what goes on out there. It's completely lawless.

yeah, the woman told about how the militants take young boys, 10yrs old, and "train" them. If they hear of a boy that commits a terrible act, the rebel groups know that they can build on that...brainwash. It is sickening what goes on...what a young boy will do to his own family.

Not only that, but getting them back to a place where they can function in normal society is a real challenge. Their mentalities are so askew that most will never re-adapt. It's almost like they become a whole new person.
