  • Website design.....

Yes, I know, I've been through this before. lol

Ok, I'm going to go ahead and buy Dreamweaver. Who here can help me out with it?

I've been told they have some great templetes to get started. I will need to add some kind of a demo (to show agents how the floor plan looks online) and a photo gallery that automatically scrolls. You know, like when you go to a site and photos are doing this loop thing.....that's what I want. I want to be able to showcase the photo quality and the interactive floor plan.

At first I wanted one site for my corporation and have sub pages for all the different things we do.....scratch that.....I only want to focus on the floor plan thing right now. Down the road I will add links, or pages, for my appraisal business and consuting thing (which really is in limbo so it's not a big deal).

If anyone can help me with how to load these things or can walk me through Dreamweaver to save me time I would really appreciate it. I need advice on this just like the advice we give for aas, training and nutrition.

    Thanks!

I'm not familiar with Dreamweaver at all. What I suggest is... check out your local college for continuing ed classes for Dreamweaver. They should offer some courses, and they won't cost very much. You only have to go to class one or two nights a week... depending on how they schedule it. It is usually for about 4 wks.

I don't have time for that, this needs to be done within a couple weeks, but thanks for the input.

        bump...

I've never used dreamweaver. I put a site together in college (a decade ago) I don't think you'll have a problem that sh1t is pretty easy. You could probably get a lot of help from whoever hosts the site too.

If you only have two weeks, just get a site up that has all the info on it you want and java apps to display your pics and then as you learn you can change the format.

Thanks bro! That's probably the way to go. I know what I want it to do is not complicated, I just need to get it going. I need to get new business cards made but I want the site on them so it's a big hold up for me. The Coloraod Association of Realtors state convestion is in two months so I want to be ahead of the game by that point.

Have you checked out this site?

I would help you out, but the last time I used Dreamweaver was when it was owned by Macromedia and came in the Macromedia MX package. Not sure if it's the same since Adobe took it over.

I need to try and do as many things as I can right now to save money. This convention coming up in October is probably going toput me out around $2k. I thought it would be about $2.5k because I wanted to have video demos of the interactive floor plan in action. But.....I went and got a copy of Macromedia Captivate (sp) from a friend and figured out how to do that part myself. It's pretty freaking cool. You tell it to record and it pops up a window that you adjust to the size you want to cover the area you need. This works for when you are online or playing with software or anything. Anyway, I went to one of the floor plans I did and recorded myself navagating the floor plan. The very first one achieved about 95% of what I want it to do. The Captivate software even automatically pops up these little windows telling the viewer what the next step is going to be. It's awesome. This must be what that Video Professor uses to create all those videos.

So, the use of that will save me the expense of paying someone to do it for me. But, I need more marketing materials printed, I need to get a booth for the convention (I have access to a $16k booth, I just need to pay the shipping back and forth), I will need to rent the space ($1k) and I need to rent a large flat screen monitor and a couple laptops so I can have the video demo running and then let the agents play with the floor plan on the laptop so they can see how it works for themselves.

It's been really stressful and busy but when it all settles down, I have no doubt that I can get an average of 5,000 orders a year from the front range area.
