in the book you miss all the reason why we went too war, and what there strategies were and how they played out


right after i read it was on a plane and met nam pilot, and we talked about it and he verified the kiss summary of the war

we went too war because we thought helicopters, the new technology of the time, would be unbeatable

we went to war with the best troops and helicopters, in 2 years we were out of copters and bullets, etc.

two years later they all the copters ammo they wanted, and a drafted army with no training, and the best troops, the old war horses from ww-ii were pretty much gone

ended up being a clust-f, in the end

I liked The Desert Fox and saw it when I was just a kid. Patton was good. I remember seeing "The 300 Spartans" when I was A kid too.

I liked Jarhead because Anthony Swofford (who wrote it) and i were in the same company in the Marines together. What are the chances of a movie being made about your company from the Gulf War.
Boys in Co. C also has R.Lee Ermy in it from full metal jacket.
