What happen to common sense?

It just gone out the door. People just don't seem to use common sense any more. We just got a phone call from a lady. We manufacture outdoor carpet adhesive among other flooring adhesives. They are suppose to be sold to professional installers, but once we sell to a distributor we don't have control of who they resell it too. A homeowner bought it, and he was an old man... so this lady is helping him put down artificial turf on his front porch using our outdoor adhesive. Now this stuff is very flammable to start with and needs to be handled with care. Apparently her 4 year old toddler was running around the yard. The old man was suppose to be watching him while she was putting down the turf. The ran across the adhesive before she could get the turf installed. He slipped and fell in the adhesive and has it all over his face, hands and side. This happened last night and the adhesive makes a permeant bond that is water-proof. She could get the adhesive off him. My boss is fuming right now. That they let this child (4 years old) around this flammable adhesive. Once this stuff dries on tools or carpet the only thing that takes it off is mineral spirits. You can't use that on skin, so it's going to have to wear off.

Yea... the thing is that they will probably sue us.

i doubt it...the only way that could POSSIBLY fly is if you dont have any warnings about using protective gear and it being flamable. i could see her suing the guy she baught it from though. you guys maybe named, but i doubt you'd face any liability issues from it
