I sitting eating my chicken and cucumbers (yea... wanted something low carbs, but was tired of green beans) when all of a sudden there is had loud bang about like thunder that shook the entire building and sent my grandmothers ceramic bowl flying across the room crashing down onto the concrete floors. It scared me so bad I scream like a little girl and jump straight up out of my chair turning it over. I'm thinking it was some sort of bomb or explosion. My husband runs out the door, and I'm not far behind him. There was nothing out there, but our neighbors who are on their porch across the street.
They said this guy driving a car is speeding down the main street and took a sharp turn. Because of his speed, he lost control of his car. Just before he hit their truck parked in front of their house, he tried to miss it. He over corrected and slammed into our building.
He shook his head and drove off. Stopped at the 4-way stop down the street got out of his car to check out the damage to his car. Got back and drove off.
The building is very sound because there was only minor chunk taken out of the brick wall. It did separate the interior wall from the exterior walls in the bathroom and pantry leaving a nice big crack in the walls, but nothing structural.
