I am a true believer in God. I have had some life changing experiences that I got through because of my faith. I don't believe that "nature, and my surroundings" got me through these things. These expeiences only deepend my faith in God. I respect thet everyone has their opinions, and calling God a fraud is not respecting others beliefs.

As for homosexuality, I for one do not judge anyone for their personal sexual peference, but gay marriage to me is NOT a validated marriage, legal or not. I believe marrigae should only be for man and woman.

Why is his beliefs ignorant? I dont believe in God yet would never call someone who did ignorant. And how does a vast and complex universe prove that your God exists. There is scientific fact to support evolution and how the universe was created to support somes beliefs. Show me YOUR proof of our existance due to Adam and Eve? Yet am I calling you ignorant? Lack of an open mind, diversity and people being able to make up thier mind on what they beleive is true ignorance..... not someone believing something that differs from you.

i dont do any of the finger pointing...i have my belief's and i dont think god cares about homosexuality...thats part of the whole "free will" thing! my god's more like jeff spicoli from fast times at ridgemont high...he's just hanging out, between catching some cool waves, and watching it all unfold, and if you fuk up this time...you may have to repeat the grade, but it take alot from him just to wash his hands of you!

Yeah next time you hear that; tell them their god fits the definition of a bigot. I love that argument, because the Christian philosophy requires that you have a certain belief and if you don't you will be punished - that is by definition a bigot; yet for some reason they do not want to acknowledge that their god is a bigot.

I guess it depends on what your goals are when debating religion. I don't ever go into a debate about religion with the goal of changing people's mind. I just try to plant seeds of logic that will gnaw at their religious foundation and more clearly articulate their own doubts about an irrational faith.

Why do I care? Because bigotry and hypocrisy are two major exports of the western religions and those two concepts could be linked to most, if not all, immorality. So if you can shake the premise on which those two perversions are a result of your improving society.

Your idea of god is more rational and not as bigoted. Your god does not persecute people because they don't possess a particular belief. You do not believe he is out to control things that you yourself cannot control. He's just back observing peoples free will. Your Jesus has taken on the characteristics of some of the more eastern philosophies. So you have already rejected the more mainstream Christian doctrine for a more tolerant version of god. Why, have you rejected it? Probably because the Jesus portrayed in Christian doctrine is still a dlck (sending good people to hell) and it doesn't make since that god of the entire universe couldn't understand a morality that you understand. So as your knowledge grows so does your god's ethics. Once you accept the fact that your god is just a external projection of your own value system - you won't need him any more.

Totally agree. These people are completely brainwashed from a young age. At one time, I was a total right wing fundamentalist Christian so I know that gang mentality takes over in a church and people really do believe that everyone else in the world is going to burn in hell for eternity. That kind of thinking is rampant throughout many Christian denominations. Many many of these people honest to God think that if you are a homesexual, you arent saved and God will **** you to the "lake of fire" where you will never see the light of day and you will suffer and burn forever as "punishment" for your sins. If you choose to become Hindu or buddhist, You are going to hell to be punished for rejecting Jesus. They love to run around telling everyone: "GOD LOVES YOU"...but if you just, FOR WHATEVER REASON, cant find a way to believe in him, its off to hell to burn FOREVER!!!!...

what i think is funny is that if someone claims to start a new religion nowadays its considered a cult...well..they all start somewhere..some just end up being more accepted than others...christianity is a widely accepted cult..and more so now than hundreds of years ago because they forced it on people from fear and murder...
