b in this case does not show learning and growing from previous mistakes

they don't call u a maverick for no reason, mavericks are erratic and seen as erratic by others, and thus hard to become good leaders cause they don't listen well

more upside with A, cause he doesn't have bad habits that are most likely engrained in the older candidate, older ceo's are typically my way or the highway

thus, again A, clean slate, can see when and if he goes wrong and if he will listen to do right

again, simple for me

sorry...i didnt really specify that it was these 2 people. just in general, you'd rather have an experience, schooled than a man thats been secessful?....ok, i see. i didnt want to specify these 2 becouse your biased....i'm not. i like neither equally. i wanted to get your opinion in general. in general, i tend to lean towards the experienced applicant. i really dont want to school you and pay for your mistakes. if i was to pay you ALOT less, then i'd be willing to poss. hire the less experienced applicant and chaulk his mistakes up to lessons! i agree that if i was of the thaught that the experience guy was poisin, i'd not hire him, but in this case, i dont necc. agree that he is....so, in general, you'd still hire a?

you have a different view on expereince

if i was hiring someone to do xyz programming i'd have to have someone with those skills

at a high level position, you have too seperate expereince from time and place

ie, some great car salesman when car sales are booming has alot of expereince, he might suck when times are tough

i like too look at trajectory over time, ie, the young guy is going up the ladder and hungry, the expereinced guy most likely is not that interested in moving up the ladder as opossed to not going back down

i've met lot's of high level folks, i'd say most of em like any other group, 80% are average 15% good too great, 5% a super star

i know what makes a super star, and what makes average

btw...a great car saleman that sux when times are tough is NOT a great car salesman...he was just a order taker. i'd launch his ass. i guess it was a bad question becouse it dont seem you can put yourself in a biz. owners position. i'm not saying that becouse you chose the answer i dont agree with (i dont necc. disagree with your answer). i realize i didnt specify WHAT type of biz and that would make the diff in your answer..i was thinking ford, gm, lear...something like that...i have a hard time believing you would hand the reigns of ford motor over to a green pea.

I don't see anything concerning in those pictures. All my family members are Christian/Liberal/Pragmatists and I would hope to god know one would say I was unqualified because of their metaphysical or political positions.

Doesn't mean I support or even like Obama but his pastor affiliation says much more about the person he is than his family and his families beliefs or past.

If he was committed to reason, I would acknowledge that his upbringing probably has contributed to a broader understanding of race and class relations.

I think he got the name Maverick because he's a "republican" that doesn't have conservative ideals and from the liberal media's perspective that is a maverick. Of course if a democrat went with conservative ideals they'd probably nickname him a traitor or the backstabber. He's a maverick because he opposes what they oppose.

i'm just pointint out traits habits and perceptions of mavericks and the great weakness in leadership

what happens is it is tough to keep a base, or a consensus on certain ideals

CONFIDENCE IS CONSISTENCY IT CREATES SECURITY

the no. 1 enemy is being erratic

over time things get messed up and confidence and the ability to lead is lost

mavericks are great on their own, in small groups, or starting revolutions, most times in big positions they struggle

He is consistent and deeply rooted in his beliefs, not erratic as you put it. I remember another presidential candidate that was considered a radical for his belief in less government (not popular during the boom of the bully unions)and restructuring the income tax code. That person was Ronald Reagan. For our younger members... Pre Reagan, the top income tax bracket was 70% If you would like to return to such a progressive tax... then Obama is your man. If not, the choice is clear.
Don't worry though, barring any major goof by McCain, the election will be a landslide.
