  • Letters to government officials - copy and paste

[preface: I saw this senator b1tching about how republicans blocked the windfall profit tax bill, which he focused on the windmill subsidies portion of the Bill, because he thinks that will benefit Montana so I had to write him.]

With the government the way it is I thought we could start a thread that we could trade letter formats and words to write our congressman, to cut down on time it takes to write them.

    Mr. Tester,
I watched your presentation on C-span 2 today and in my opinion it was repulsive. Of course, I'm writing you and not some of the other senators because you seem more personable; you don't seem to have sold your soul to Washington yet.

I don't know what to think of politicians now days: either (1) they don't have any integrity and they do what is irrational because it easier than trying to explain the most rational course of action to their constituents or (2) they are ignorant and think an irrational course of action is the best course of action (despite the fact they are paid to research deeply into these issues of great importance). So it comes down to a question of integrity or a question of intelligence and giving the fact that most politicians are well educated, I lean towards it being an integrity issue.

The windfall profit tax will not work (at relieving prices at the pump anyway - lining the windmill industries pockets with subsidies, maybe); there is not a credible economist that would state otherwise. Despite the fact it would not work; it is immoral. You are essentially stating government should take its monopoly on brute force and seize "unreasonable" profits (defined by the same irrational legislators that would support a bill) from share holders of oil companies. So your pointing the finger and blaming the Republicans for blocking a bill that is irrational and immoral? What does that say about you Mr. Tester? The fact you were so vague and general with your presentation implies to me you are aware of what I have stated but ignore it for some reason. You then exploit the love you have for your children to provoke empathy and compassion for our children's generation; all the while your selling them out for subsidies, partisanship, or some other trivial matter when compared to the American citizens freedom. Or do you not consider people who hold shares in American oil companies as a freedom to be concerned with?

Do not assume I consider myself a Republican, because I don't. I consider myself a libertarian and a true American. A citizen who believes in freedom and recognizes that legislators, Republicans and Democrats, are assaulting those freedoms at both ends of the spectrum.

    Thanks for your time,

    Mr. (fill in blank)
I am very disappointed in you for voting (for or against) the (bill or law). I would've hoped that you would have used better judgement in (sponcering or not sponcerin) this (law or bill). In the future, i would appreciate if you would (remove your head from your ass or use your fukin head) before casting any votes that would effect the future of others!
(thank you for your time, or think you fukin dumb ass or eat shyt and die)

    sign,
    (your name here)

^LOL, Perfect!! We ought to pick a Senator every week and send them that letter.

and of course come up with addresses that would lead them to believe we are part of their constituents.
