I wonder how safe anyone is from assasination? I mean, kennedy was shot from a distance. MLK was shot from across the street. how does the secret service protect from long range snipers? i mean,imagine if something like that happens. Shyt. Secret service goes to where the president is going to be a day before he gets there and secures all places that could be used for assassination attempts. It would be really hard for one man to succeed at a assassination today on the president. IMO, they would have to do it before he is president, while he is on the campaign trail trying to be a "real" person, interacting and shaking hands.

Seriously though, I'm not directing that at you personally but generally speaking anyone that endorses a stronger state with the intention of doing the "common good" or any good, is off their rocker somewhere. I think your an intelligent guy, I think many people on this board are intelligent but humans have the capability of being intelligent in many areas in their life and then compartmentalizing faith and irrational ideas.

Statism is a broad term in which can be broken down into socialism, liberalism, progressivism, fascism, communism, dictatorship, oligarchy, etc. It is typically used by libertarians because it suggestive to the state overreaching natural law and being allowed to impose coercive tactics against individuals; in which if those same tactics were used by an individual against another individual it would be deemed immoral.

^bro your hoping he can deliver something he is ideologically opposed to. More government is not going to fix anything and will only make our situation worse and hoping that Obama can fix something despite the fact he has expressed that he will implement policies that will make things worse, is crazy. Your hope in this man is misplaced.

Let me talk in your terms. Psychological egoism plus statism contradicts the best interest of individuals. Obama is romanticizing statism; he is very dangerous.

America will not improve it's situation within the next four years with either candidate but with Obama it will get worse.
