A friend of mine was put on probation for a period of 6 months and has to submit to random drug and alcohol screening. He asked if I know if they test for AAS. To the best of my knowledge I dont think they do. Im under the impression they test for addictive and intoxicating drugs such as marijuana, coc, perscription drugs, etc. I have never heard of getting randomed for AAS. Could anyone agree or tell me otherwise. Id hate to be the bearer of bad advice on a subject like this.....

THEY WILL NOT TEST FOR AAS JUST FOR REC DRUGS AS YOU SAID.****,VALIUM,XANAX,POT,BARBITS ECT. NOT AAS

A caveit to that. If he is on probabtion for sometype of AAS possession. Now, the other thing he needs to understand, if his probation officer decides to test him for it, they can. My best friend is a Parole Officer for teh state. We talk about this all the time. He has a "client" that was convicted of a drug charge not related to AAS's. However, he tests the guy for it (I tell him he's dick for doiung it! LMAO).
A probation/parole offi er is not like going for a job drug test or work related random testing.
Again, as FUZO said, they don't test for AAS's. But, they can order it...
Now, chances are, his proby is not likie myt buddy. My friend knows about this stuff because we were roommates WAY back when and he has some basic education because of me... I feel bad... Haahaa

1 more for; no, they won't...unless his charge was AAS related. It costs a few hundred more to test for AAS. They usually don't test for it unless they're told to by court order.
Don't worry, bro. I've worked in LE for 11 years before moving to Cali and now, I have a union job and they never ever test for AAS during random drug and pre-employment testings. They only care about drugs used that would impair your ability to think rationally. And trust me, during my time on the force, I've been on ECA and test C (later in that career) and it was never detected.
HOWEVER, the only time that it may be tested would be if your friend mentions it to someone and it gets back to the big guys (supervisor, management, etc.). One of my police supervisors even claimed to the ranks that she "believed" that I was on something when I'd lost alot of weight from ECA back in 1996, which caused me to take nearly 3 drug tests within a month. But again, it was never detected.

I am pretty sure that the person being drug tested would still have to sign a seperate concent form. They can't just test you for something that was not previuosly stated on a concent form. The concent form is in sorts a search warrant, and we all know a search warrant has to state specifically what is being searched and for what.. Now if they did test him randomly for it and he didn't sign a concent form specifically stating those substances then by law it would be inadmissable and a violation of the law. just have him read his paper work and it will state what he is being tested for.

I would have to guess than the proby would have to really not like the guy to go through that. Unless it's on his court ordered documents, my 'guess' would be that the porby would have to get special permission to spend the extra money. He would have to really not like the guy or the guy woudl have to walk in weighing 20 pounds more than last month, or if the dude is just huge, the proby could probably ask for permission on the basis of violation of probation. I would say it 'could' happen but I'm sure it's not standard operating procedure. Well, unless it was an aas related charge, then it might be part of the court order.
