Why do you guys think the price of gasoline in Venezula is less than 30 cents a gallon? Because they drill and refine their own oil and the governemnt doesn't tax the hell out of it. They don't have to pay for oil to come across the ocean, they don't have to pay for someone else to refine it, they are self-efficient in the matter and therefore they pay the lowest price in the world! It's pretty much common sense but then again, common sense if very uncommon. LOL

I listened to the oil company CEO's testify in Congress last week. I like what the CEO of Shell told them.
"Lift some or all of the controls that are in place now in the country and let us drill here for our oil. It is the the government that is prohibiting us from getting our oil in this country."
I have paraphrased his commets,but he is correct on this point

^The only reason many of the Arab countries are oil producing countries is because they nationalized western country companies oil sites, essentially stealing the "know how" and means of drilling for oil from private companies, from the west. If we would have defended our interest back in the day we wouldn't be having this problem today. But we seem to have an over-population of bleeding heart liberals in this country.
