That's another reporter that just can't wait for the next car bomb or IED. He can't stand that the violence is down. If you noticed, that's the only thing that gets reported, and Iraq ain't getting too much coverage these days.

There have been reporters that have walked the streets at night though, and shown the stores open and people out and about safely. Of coarse you don't want to take a family vacation to Baghdad yet, but the fact is, violence is down. That dipshyt reporter even reluctantly had to admit it.

And McCain did say that the General rides in an un-armored hum-v every day. Why would he say otherwise if it's not true? I'm willing to bet that the General travels just as Generals do in a war, in which he could probably travel in a Corolla with all the security he has covering him.

But to the point...Have we, and the Iraqis, made great progress since the beginning? The answer is yes...there has been great progress made.

If only wars were predictable, and if the goal could only be reached in 1 week...1 month...a year...without 1 loss of life, what a great dimension we'd live in.

Umm, I hate to tell you bro, but you are in fact mistaken about how generals drive around.. One of the guys in our church is in Iraq right now and he is the aide to one of the Generals which means he is with the General day and night. Yes, they do ride around in an un-armoured humvee in low violence areas. The armoured humvees are typically used more for attacks, high conflict areas and security convoys. Unless one of those situations are present, they are in regular humvees. Like I said, this comes directly from a guy I know that is an aide to a general. So why would he lie about that? The reason we know is because I made the ignorant comment that he would be safe because he was with the general. I was making the same assumptions you are.

Now, I do not know which general he is the aide for but I would not imagine the military protocol changes much from one general to another. Generals don't grow on trees and they are typically given the same protection depending on the situation.
