Border Security & Immigration Reform


Immigration is one of those challenging issues that touch on many aspects of American life.
I have always believed that our border must be secure and that the federal government has utterly failed in its responsibility to ensure that it is secure. If we have learned anything from the recent immigration debate, it is that Americans have little trust that their government will honor a pledge to do the things necessary to make the border secure.

As president, I will secure the border. I will restore the trust Americans should have in the basic competency of their government. A secure border is an essential element of our national security. Tight border security includes not just the entry and exit of people, but also the effective screening of cargo at our ports and other points of entry.

i loved regan but i'm leery about mccain. i've watched past clips where he is just too eager to go to war and keep us occupying there indefinitely. scary election indeed this year.

I loved in the 1984 debate against Walter Mondale when Ronal Reagan was asked about age and the presidency he replied "I will not not let age become an issue in this campaign, my opponents youth an inexperience have no bearing on this election". Great Stuff!

your right...thats what they were called. he's former military (short stint vietnam) and he's OUT on mccain. he's not really liking any of them....i asked him a few min's ago what he'd vote RIGHT NOW and he said he wouldnt! he's trying to find one of the can. that he could support but just cant do it. it's funnty hearing that from my old man...he's been around a long time and i've never seen him more indesisive. i know not voting wont be an option for him, but he's really up in the air

^my grandparents used to be hard core republicans, ran the headquarters where they lived until about a year ago and they are now not voting for the republican party...

Yeah but Fuzo, your forgetting about how many Republicans lately have been voting against McCain when he's essentially already won the nomination. People are actually taking time out of their day, driving to a polling station and casting a ballot to say "phuck you McCain". That says a lot about how many people are not happy with him.

And in my opinion the reason he is higher in the polls is because of the intensity of the Democratic primaries. Once that dies down and McCain starts getting attention again and is talking about "carbon caps", "global warming" and his ideas of relief for the economy - conservative people are going to start not only questioning his ideological integrity but his lack of understanding and the effect that will have on the economy. In other words, McCains numbers are up because in comparison to Obama and Hilllary, he's been on break.

one thing is regan was an actor before a politician. alot of people followed his political career becouse of his acting. my dad is a dem. always was, always will be, but he loved regan. loved the ideal of a cowboy running things. i think regan got alot of that....kinda like i believe arnold would.
