  • OZ Fitness trainer..

So, there I am doing my leg workout yesterday and I'm watching this e-fing trainer with a client.
The client is about 5-10/260-300lbs with a huge gut. He is totally out of shape.. This trainer has him at the squat rack grabbing a bar with 25lbs on each side (95lbs total) doing BENT OVER F'ING ROWS???? Are you kidding me.. This guy probably already has lower back pain from that big arse gut, and this E-fing "trainer" has him doing bent over rows... OMG!!! Oh, the cleint was barely raising the freakin' bar...
Then, he takes him to the cross over pulleys and has it on the lower setting. The client grabs with the opposite hand from the pulley and pulls the handle across his body twisting... you got it... his lower e-fing BACK!@!!

Here's the delema... should I make a comment to the trainer or the client. I almost did it right there on the floor.

bro let it go. I see uneducated personal trainers in my gym all the time. It looks like they don't even work out themselves but just do this for a living to make money. If a client is stupid enough to spend his cash and pay someone to train them the wrong way then let them spend their money.

pfft...i should get certified and do that for a living...i can fuk someone up just as well as the next guy.

at the gym i was going to, there was a guy there, mid 40's, on the thin side and he wanted help to put on some mass. so, i took the time to explain to him how important it was to eat well...the whole nutrition bit. he tells me his personal trainer never got into the "nutrition thing" with him. i couldnt believe it...he never eat breakfast, vending machine lunch and big dinner. guy musta had a crazy metabolism. anyways, the trainer approached me (all 170lbs of him) and asked me not to interfere with his clients. he wasnt snotty (he probobly thaught i'd smack him with the dumbell i was holding). i said fine....a couple weeks later this dude fired the guy and was asking anyone, he thaught, that knew what they were doing for help. EVERYONE HELPED HIM, LMAO!! the trainer got pissed and quit. last time i seen the dude...he was doing great

The male trainers at my gym have bellies and the female ones look like a mop handle. People will still pay them to train them. I guess its those same people that buy all that as seen on tv get thin (or jacked) fast gimmicks.

the problem is, even though you look like you know what you're doing cuz you're biff, the client will figure, this guy i'm paying is a professional so he must know more than that guy with the washboard abbs and 22" arms.
You may not recognize your mom when you get home, I shaved her back.

                Re: OZ Fitness trainer..

Its a common case of book smarts versus practicum.

I worked in the industry for a decade at least. I never hired a trainer without having him put me through a workout first. I'd always make it a point to have some concern: bad knee, lower back pain, etc.

A lot of these trainers read some magazines, work out a little ... or just play softball a few times a week and think they know enough to take the test and break into the industry. Naturally they pass the test and its off to work.

How many guys do you know that think they learned martial arts from a book? Or took those workouts at the back of arnolds encyclopedia of BBing to be "real", lol.

I always told my trainers that their build was their best method of advertising. Then I always told my members to find a personal trainer that looked the way THEY wanted to look. It narros the gap beteen experience and theory. For example if you want to be huge, dont get a trainer that runs marathons or does triathalons, lol. Though he will have a ton of THEORY on how to get big it more than likely has never been tested successfully.

As for the trainer having a fat guy do BO Rows, brother I wish that was the craziest thing I've ever seen...

I just realized today. There are a bunch of new "recruits" at the gym. Look like slobs..
What is funny, they walk around trying to puff up their chest, but their gut is so big, it just goes flat from top to bottom, then a 'Sharp' curve in at the bottom.. LMAO!

I'm such a prick... But I just do not have the patience for this type of ignorance..

I had a Trainers certification about 8 yrs ago, when I was thinking about doing something else (before I got my current job). I found out quickly that the area I live in there are a lot of people who act like they have money, but really do not. I hate fake people... Be real, be yourself. Screw the Jones', if you are just yourself, peopel will look at you as the Jones'...
Um.. enough said.. My wife hates it when I get on a rant...

                        Peace,

it's a hard road, mikey had a great post

tough thing, is u really don't know what the client told him and asked him and what his injuries or whatever might be

if ur intention is too help the guy, if u ever see him alone, pay him a few compliments, like u see his dedicated to the gym or trying hard, something that is factually true yet not over the top, that might break the ice, and then u might find out whats what

and fwiw, i've had people i've know for years, ask for advice, and when they didn't like it, even though it was not directed at them, just genralities, they got super pissed at ME, not the information or there own beliefs

it doesn't bother me, it's just one of those slippery slopes ever time

my policy is if they ask i will go as far as they want, otherwise, i focus on me

Trip.. I agree. I don't ever give advice or approach people. I also focus on myself.
This was just one of those situations where you know there is no way this guy should be doing this excersize...
But you are right... I gotta just leave it alone. Sooner or later they will approach someone in the gym for advice...

                            Peace,
