    Its Official Now

    Last night i picked up my accountability tags and interior helmet stickers for the Fire Department. I am one of a few Volunteer Firefighters in the area who are qualified to go inside burning buildings along with the City Firefighters.

    the accountability tags are similar to dog tags... when you report on a fire ground you turn in one of your tags to the Incident Commander so they have a way to keep track of who is going in. then the second stays on your helmet so they can identify your charred body when its over.... HA!

    congrats bro!! very honorable job! are you gonna try to pursue it further? maybe not be volunteer, but paid?

        more than likely. I am currently in EMT school and that will be the end of the minimum requirements in my area to go full time. I am a little worried though because it will be a pretty big pay cut for me. Obviously $$ isnt my main motivation but i have to live too.
