once black America figures them out. Black republicans are getting the real information out there too with books like "Stupid Black Men", I know..attention getter title, but it's written by Larry Elder. Another informed black American that's getting the truth out there. The democrats have 95% of the black vote. He says that if it even drops to where it was 50yrs ago and the dems only got 45% of the black vote, there won't be anymore democratic party. And he's right. Who, in their right mind, votes to raise taxes and for bigger government. Not to mention that little issue of keeping Islamic fascism out of America.

Re: The Democratic party is in trouble...
How many times does someone need to say the same thing? I think everyone knows where he stands. And to start another thread saying it all again. What's the need?
Yes I am for raiseing taxes like there talking about. It's about time the rich have to pay there share instead of the middle class taking a beating all the time.

Re: The Democratic party is in trouble...
Democrats favor progressive taxaition so middle class taxes should raise very little if any, and im prochoice, I want the econmy to get better which is something i beleive mccain cant do b/c all he wants to do is win the war which increases our debt. I want the troops to come home. Everyone has different reasons why they vote each way, and thats some of mine. Im a democrat and cant stand Bush but I aint bashing you for your opiinion I just dont agree with you. Especially with the Obama talk like hes gonna make us Islamic or something.

Re: The Democratic party is in trouble...
Elders is good, and right, although, you don't change people's minds by criticizing them.
The positive is there are 1,000's of elders out there now, a new black leadership that is far from the old school where the cry was...."poor me, what have u done for me lately"
All elder is saying, while u all wait around for handout, others are working and achieving extreme success, u are following the wrong road.
Which is my point with obama, with mfg decreasing as a % of gdp the lower and middle class lost the road to upper income levels, and no national leader has come along to show the way, the path is clear what needs to be done, but the drama has to be put aside to show the light on the right path.

Re: The Democratic party is in trouble...
Wasn't it you trip that was talking about how the road to success is no longer clear? That's exactly right, and that is Elder's main point with the democratic party. They have obscured that plain and simple direction for success to lower class, and they use that as power. With that knowledge and proverbial bridge to success rebuilt, the democratic party is in trouble, because then you have that class of people working and making that 6 and close to 6 figure income that the dems refer to as rich and those same people aren't gonna vote to have the government digging in their pockets for people that refuse to work for their's. News flash to anyone who thinks that because someone works to pull in $200k, or worse than that, owns a business and pulls in $100-$200k a year. These people don't need and can't afford to have the government stealing money out of their pockets because of the group of people that truly believe that they're owed this and that. That's backwards thinking. It's all there for anyone and everyone. The democrats have succeeded in blurring that line for their benefit and are biting their nails at folks like Elder and McGlowen because they're informing the people of the truth. If everyone creates their own success, there's no need for social this or universal that. There's no need to steal money from one group that's difined [rich] by people that shouldn't have that authority. These voters then will not want to make it more difficult for capitalist. uh ohh...

Re: The Democratic party is in trouble...
Probably HP.
The road has always been clear, yet in reality alot of us stumble onto it accidentally, or someone does help us.
If you're not in environment or find a mentor, or have initiative of your own, then it is tough.
In the past, it was easy to end up on the assembly line, a blind stumble yet it was a good lving that brought much wealth over time.
Now, there are really 10,000 of opportunities, it gets hard to pick and to know what u need to know to do well, ala, the world of specialization.
IMHO, it will get better with obama. It will soon become a bitter reality that we cannot pay for others stuff. Why, it takes away the main way to learn, u learn thru expereince and responsibility, u take away responsibility and learning stops dead in it's tracks.
I've posted before about unintended consequences of welfare, social security and medical costs. Each one was implemented after a crisis, cause they wanted to help, yet, in reality it took away a families ability to learn, seek to learn and pass it down to children.
Knowledge is not Power
It is Potential Power
It is what we do with this Power
And in this Day and Age, whatever u do u better strive to be the Best an Expert, otherwise ur basically just an assembly line worker with a tie.

Ok moving on...i live in a fairly large house...i pay $3000 a year in property TAX...the smaller houses in town, where income is around 40-60k a year are only paying half of that.Ibet the wealthy people here are pay 2-3 times property tax that i do.....your little argument makes no sense!
Also, mostwealthy people, i cant remember the percentile, are wealthy off of real estate. Do you know how much taxes they have to pay on capitol gains? ALOT more than your income tax isLast edited by pigmeat; 02-15-2008, 12:04 PM.
