      Re: Roger Clemens

I think that this is not new news - I mean, pro athletes using steroids/performance-enhancing drugs.

I get the theory about using steroids giving athletes some competitive advantage over those who chose not to use. I'm going to be a cynic and say that I think that it's more widespread that we'll ever know.

I am also not convinced of how much of an edge they gave certain players. Conseco, Giambi, sure. But, I'm just not sure how pitchers would actually benefit, given that arm strength isn't what necessarily makes a pitcher. That being said, neither does size. Pedro Martinez is a small guy, Ron Guidry comes to mind, as well. Then, you have the big boys, Clemens, that monster, CC Sabathia - all goons that can throw hard!

I'd like to hear what others think about that - the potential benefit of pitchers using juice to gain a significant edge.

When did Congress appoint themselves "Ministry of Sport"?

I think Orwell was right . . . just a few years off on his estimate.

I've said it before, "I dont want to see my neighbor throw a fastball, try to dunk a basketball or tackle someone.

I want to see someone throw it 105mph.

I want to see a guy that's 6'10 and can dribble like a point guard do a 360 on another guy thats 7'.

                          I want to see a dude that's 6'6' 280 that runs a 4.3 forty knock someone's head off.

I agree with Mak2102 and O2, they whoulc be required to take AAS.

                              Yes that would be good.
They need to stop with the horseshyt propaganda everytime they talk about it. Some guy on tv said that these role models taking steroids has led to alot of deaths among youths from steroids. That's absolute bullshyt! Now I don't condone recreational unsupervised use of steroids among minors, but to throw a line out there like that is rediculous. It is absolutely a witch-hunt that is going on and any jackass with a microphone blasts off bs about steroids like they know what they're talking about, and the public eats that bullshyt up like it's the facts. That's what pisses me off. The truth needs to be laid down. The facts need to be shoved down all these dumbasses throats including the athletes that don't seem to know shyt either. The people need to realize that steroids are life enhancement drugs that better the quality of life. They should be legal in the free world and more than allowed in pro sports of all kinds. There isn't an athlete on the planet that doesn't take some un-natural supplements. Steroids are as natural a substance as most food and drinks, and much less expensive of a program than athletes spend on their supplements.
