  • 9/11 Tribute painting

    hey guys....

I have been super busy between training with the fire academy and now EMT school. I somehow managed time to get this painting done, and I think its my best to date. It was finished last night and I already have more than a hand full of orders for prints. I really think this is the one that might help me break through and get some recognition. I just need to get some exposure for it. I have a lot of connections with various Fire departments.... and my other plan is to send a bunch of free prints to FDNY along with my contact information.... i figure a little free advertiesment and word of mouth will go a long way. I truly believe this painting sells itself, it just needs to be seen. You all know i am very modest.... but this one is powerful. (the number 343 on the helmet is the number of firefighters who died at the towers)

anyway, please help out any way you can to help show this around. the reproduction costs on this one are pretty pricy... but i will help out any members or friends of members on a better deal... i just ask for you to forward it on and on and on and help me get it seen.....

let me know what you guys think??

I really like it - you have become very skilled with watercolor, and I know how difficult that medium can be. I am truly impressed with all of your paintings I have seen in the past year or so. I agree that this may be a good "in" for you to sell some of your work on a larger scale - there is obviously a strong emotional tie between the content and your audience. I wish you luck with both of your careers!

ha... everyone loves that intro.... probably gonna have to change it up at some point to sound a little more professional... but it works for now.

thanks for the compliments.... feel free to save this small web version of it and mass email it around.... i want it seen by as many as possible.... plus, its too small to print out a quality print.

wow! I love the feel of your paintings and this one does have all that emotion that everyone can relate to because of where it takes you. If I was a rich man I'd already have some of your work to brag about. Maybe one day. I will pass this to some folks that can throw down and just might.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you this, but painting should be your livelihood. I've heard that the art world/business, as an artist, is difficult to really launch and take off. I would also think that this day and age that that statement should maybe just be an old cliche now with the way people make it in so many areas of art. You've been at it for several years now haven't you? Do you hit the expos, and have you or do you get booths at art expos and so on? I would think that your work would catch and fly outa the studio. Also, is your work always related to firefightering?

                      Re: 9/11 Tribute painting

im not really looking to sell the original... just prints at this time....

i am currently a web designer.... I am a vol. firefighter and i am working towards transiting to a paid firefighter.... then doing web design and art on my off days. i think i due time i will be able to make a nice side income off art.... mainly comissioned portraits.... but i just need to keep working and get exposure. I dont put much into getting my name out there right now. I have had one small gallery show, but i dont do much else.
