I don't consider myself a republican but I hate to see one of the two major parties that held the platform for limited government go this route. I guess I'm too out of touch; maybe that means I don't have my head up my as$ but I thought there were so many people that were tired of Bush, that they wouldn't get anyone with characteristics similar to his.

People think Bush is stubborn, I guess they are thinking McCain isn't. His whole party tells him he's wrong all the time and he doesn't give two $hits - he goes further left. Bush expanded federal laws, federal budget and federal control, infringing peoples rights. McCain will do the same but will also infinge more social freedoms and free speech but at least he will have the priority of disposing of the prison at Guantanamo Bay.

Bush had poor communicating skills at expressing why he believed in his policies. O.k., so McCain is probably a little better at communicating but he's 10 times more deceptive, claiming the mantel of Barry Goldwater (who would be described as a Libertarian today) and that he was a foot soldier for the Reagan revolution; what the phuck ever! When politicians make such outlandish statements that are so blatantly in opposition to their true positions, you have to conclude that they think their voters are stupid.

I thought republicans had realized they had hit bottom with Bush and would change direction. Maybe the Libertarians can fill the void.

^ i saw a poll on fox that said 65% of repubs were happy with president bush, if these numbers are true they voted for romney and mccain because they are content with how things are going..The repubs of today are pretty much liberals by the true meaning of the word.

It's always been that way. Liberal was redefined. The true meaning of liberal=good... liberal redefined=okay in business not government.

Lets face it....with this crowd its pick your poison. Hillary and Obama want to pull out of Iraq to leave it to implode and Iran to have its way there. They'll then push for a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens and raise taxes to cover their universal health care. Plus Hillary is a furniture theif!

With McCain theres no telling what you'll get cause I can't get him pegged on many issues. I know he will keep troops on the ground for as long as it takes but other than that I'm just not sure whare he stands. I think he is for a pathway to citizenship but he won't admit it now. He tried to pass that bill but it failed miserably (which it should have).

Then with Romney you might as well call him the "Breeze". He's for whatever sounds good at the time.

I said all of that to say, we're in for it. Until we get someone that is a visionary with the ability to speak and persuade then its going to be the same old crap.
