I agree with them on that. No need to expand on that. Yesterday afternoon, my mother said that Ron Paul would be a wasted vote. I didn't even realize that her husband was for Ron Paul as well. She obviously relayed my points and so on to her husband, and he took it from there. He's a republican, but I had no idea that he had went Ron Paul. She said that he made the remark yesterday that he was thinking that voting for R Paul would be a "wasted vote." I got that answer a couple of times today when I mentioned Ron Paul. "It would have been a wasted vote." I'm amazed at how many people actually are for Ron Paul. If everybody that wanted Ron Paul in there had voted Ron Paul, then the numbers would have been a bit different. One republican really surprised the hell outa me by replying that the only reason he didn't vote R Paul is because of the "wasted vote" factor. That really says something right there. If you only knew this man. He also said that he wants the military background of McCain to follow the current coarses out strong and as smoothly as possible, so...there's that. You really have apples and oranges comparing the two, but I like McCain over the other candidates and I voted Ron Paul.

Ron Paul just isn't the enterprise that a presidential candidate obviously must be. People said they want him. From the independents for change to some of the die-hard right. We can't blame the media. If it was up to the media, Giuliani would've taken Florida. Giuliani should have been runnin strong throughout according to the media and what the media has done for him.
Both my parents surprisingly voted for Ron Paul in early voting. I was shocked. I've been trying to get them to but I never thought they would.

The wasted vote slogan, that is so irritating to hear, especially in this day and age. Just tell them to go follow the herd, your not going to waste your time with sheep while their flocking off a cliff.

I don't understand how someone can come to the belief that voting for a politician who shares similar convictions is a wasted vote. Voting for someone who doesn't share your convictions but has a better chance of winning would be a wasted vote; or maybe a more proper term would be *****. People need to quit worrying about who everyone else is voting for and vote for the person that represents their ideology the most.

I'm gonna go pi$s in the wind now!

dave- not a wasted vote, you never know how many delegates he will pick up now that rudys out and soon huckabee also..their votes are up for grabs in the previous states.the whole "wasted vote" theory is off anyway, theres no such thing imo at this stage in the race, unless you really hate a candidate..I dont even think ill vote if its romney/mccain vs hillary..i still think hillary will win unfortunately.

i wasted my vote on ron paul, and i'd do it again. i gotta say, it kind of shocks me that anyone on this board would support mccain, considering what most on this board are into.

THE MAN WOULD SEEK TO PUT YOU IN PRISON FOR BUILDING MUSCLE WITH EXOGENOUS HORMONES.

now i'm not a one issue voter, but his position on this topic speaks volumes IMO.

I would be surprised if that same mindset was not within every candidate. That is not an off-base view from government figures. Look at how congress responds to the issue as a whole.

i wasnt really saying "wasted", well...that is what i said, lol...but not what i really meant. kinda saying like "yea, i wasted my vote, but i'd do it again"...shoulda put wasted in quotes, lol.

i really dont understand the direction this country is headed. as the boomers get older, i figured alot would move towards the "personal freedom" thing, as klash puts it. my older bro's are boomers and none of them are for mccain...i think this country has gotten too busy to stop and think. and too confussed to know it! we need a switch to be flipped in someones head who is already a part of the machine. no "average joe's" will ever have the resources to do anything...we need a person who's in power to wake up and lead. alot would say that'd be ron paul but i dont think he's enough "media darling" to get the attention needed to make it happen. i dont think he'll get the positive spin he needs unless they find video of mccain and romney in a threesome with a male intern!

maybe so, but mccain has spearheaded much of the AAS legislation. he is BAD NEWS.

and, ron paul would end the drug war and restore the right of the individual to control their own health and what they put in their bodies.

I understand that. That's a huge pro with R.Paul along with his stance on a good list of other important issues. Unfortunately it doesn't look like he'll be getting the presidency. Fortunately though he is a politician with a plan and can still push his agenda.

Something else that is very important to me is the fight against Islamic terrorist/extremist so a president that is willing to win that battle has my support there. That's a big pro for McCain with me.

                              Amen brother.

And Ron Paul doesn't have to win to be able to influence the political landscape for years to come.
One thing I don't get about people who are unhappy with the direction government is going, is how they keep supporting the same old song and dance by voting for politicians who serve the ideology of pragmatism, who think they can seperate issues and deal with each one in a vaccum, without adversley affecting something else. Ron Paul is the only candidate that views issues as a intricate whole and stays true to a consistent ideology of freedom.
