Well honor killings is an older cultural idea distinct from Islam. No where in Islamic teachings are there honor killings, it is more of an arab idea specifically dating back way before Islam, dont confuse the ethnicity of being arab and the religion of islam itself, although in our western mind they are one in the same, they are not.
This occurs among Sikhs quite commonly as well, and muslims of/or from other non-arab areas do not practice such ideas.
Now personally anyone that does such evil needs to be utterly destroyed, it is scary as these people actually think that waht they are doing is right, and there is no more dangerous person in the world than one that does evil, thinking they are doing good, just look at all the suicide bombers.....
yeah you hear a lot about that s-hit in the arab world. females are still second class citizens at best and more like possessions. if a girl doesn't want to marry the guy the family arranged the father will kill her to regain honor. if they are shamed by showing a little too much wrist under the burkha they are stoned, the religion doesn't teach it but the interpretation of the religion by these fanatical clerics warps the muslims into following what the clerics say. it's phuqed. no matter what religion i would be a follower of i'd never kill my children for anything that religion didn't like.

I agree totally mandarb. That has got to be the most dangerous mentality out there. I would imagine that the African muslims would be another breed that practice honor killings after seeing their reaction to that British woman teacher. That would have been indeed an honor killing if the Sudanese population had got their way and beheaded her.
When i was in my early twentys i dated this muslim girl that ran away from home along with her sister.I always aked her ,"dont you want to at least see your mother" she always replied if ,if you would only know what would happen.She told me about the whole dissgrace thing,and comming back after being gone for almost 10 yrs. She said it was bad enough that they ran away because of muslim life beliefs ,but now once other family members found out about what happend ,her father would be even more pressured to execute them ,because of family shame.So if they would go back they might as well commit suicide.She was a good girl ,pretty ,sexy, smart,good partner,but she was realy messed up in her head because of her past,we broke up because of her issues, but i regret that i did not stick around .I was not ready to deal with all that at that time.I still feel guilty.

your 100% right. i got a very close friend who iraqi. him, his family and his wife and there family are christian..his wife has 2 sisters and 2 brothers. the sisters are all older. the dad owns a few hotels...big money! the girls work there ass off at the hotels and the 2 younger boys (like 16 and 18) are EXECUTIVES!!! they make big money and NEVER step foot in the hotels. anyway, my buddy thinks his wife had an affair. he's trying to cope with it, without involving the dad. i asked, why would that matter? he said the shame his daughter would bring his (the old man's) family would lead him to go ape shyt on her! he said if he threw her out and the dad found out, he more than likely beat the piss out of her and disown her. he's all fuked up in the head about it.

No, that's just in their messed up thought process. Social pressure is probably the extent of it in their native cultures, but there's hardly any of that here. Those people are so fuked up. The natural and responsible response is to take up for your children and family, regardless. Somebody would get hurt for even implying that we consider actions like that against our own. In our culture people know they better not even talk about your kids. Fuk ups or not. They don't protect their own. Especially their women.
About 6 mos ago, I met a guy from Pakistan in the gym. Got to talking to him. He was 26 and had a girlfriend of about 26, also, while he was in Pakistan. He told me that it was a fact that if the two of them were ever caught together or communicating, she would be killed by her family, as the relationship was not arranged. This was in 2007, in pakistan. I could not believe it.
well the murder was done in Toronto and as the official canadian here I must say it just show us the real meaning. Yes it is honor killing as practices in India or Pakistan but it was Muslim related. The girl refused to wear the veil, it just showed us the pressusre and the hypocrisy of these people (of course some of them). Here you should have heard all the BS, muslim calling on radio and protesting saying "If a true canadian kills his wife, does not make all canadian murderers" it just showed us they dont get it and brainwashed they are

The Toronto incident is a different one. These two sisters were just murdered on the 2nd of Jan. They were 17 & 18 years old. Their father, a taxicab driver, shot his them and left them for dead in the taxicab. He was ashamed of them for being normal teenage girls basically. Their fellow classmates describe them as very smart, really good girls.
