yeah damn this shyt. I love the cool weather but once it drops below freezing, I'm not as cool with it. It's a different cold down here too. I was in Kentucky in December & January of 2001-'02, I think it was. It was like 5 & 10 degrees every morning. I swear it wasn't as bad as this 20 degree wind chill this morning. It's that moisture in the air down here.

The last time it really really SNOWED in FL was back in the 1970s. It was deep too...not a few flurries that melted before they hit the ground. The edges of the Bay were frozen (low tide) and we were pretending to ice skate on them.

yep. We got a few inches inland at my dad's house. I say inland. He's about 10 miles as the crow flys form the gulf and a block from the bay, but yeah...I gots FL blood.

                Re: frozen southland

Well, as a former GA resident I can say the humidity makes it much worse. Hell, me and some bors went fishing the Saturday after Thanksgiving and it was -3 degress, yes, -3. But, once the sun came out and it got up to 10 degrees, we were pulling our gloves off, hats off, lol. I've been out doing appraisals when it was -10 and I can be totally honest, GA winters were worse IMO. The humidity makes in bone chilling. I remember standing at the bus stop as a kid when it was in the 20's or 10's and just freezing my ass off. But, here, if the sun is out, it's nice no matter how codl it is. Another advantage of being 6,600 feet above sea level, the UV is higher so the sun is actually stronger. But, come summer, you get fried much faster than in the south. It may only be in the low 80's but it will cook you to a crisp in no time.

Yeah my friend from around the Boston area swears that it feels colder when it gets around freezing temps down here. He says that exact same thing, "It chills to the bone fast."

                      Re: frozen southland

Yesterday morning we had a little bit of snow... just dusted some areas.

The heater in my husband's house just can't seem to keep up, so it was like 62˚F last night. how come 62 in the summer just doesn't seem as cold it did last night?
