I rented it yesterday. We haven't watched it yet. I just started to rip it and figured I'd preview a little of it. Jeezeloufukinweeze!! I just had to switch screens because my daughter walked in the den. Mike Myers just GREW UP! That's a big mutha fugga! Anyway, I feel like I just stopped in the middle of a badass roller coaster. This Halloween is the shyt so far. Rob Zombie's horror skills are impressive.

Re: Halloween
though I absolutely loved Devils Rejects I wasnt too into Zombie's Halloween, he hyped it up saying how much he hated all of these remakes that dont do anything new with the material, but after the half way point when he finishes the new introduction to the character, the movie is almost a scene for scene remake of the original.
I liked the movie for its brutality and I did like the build up in the beginning, but I felt the sets were too cluttered and dark in the end and the cuts were shaky and rough, making the movie really difficult to watch. Basically what it came down to for me is if the original Halloween was never made, I dont feel that this version would have become the classic that the original became, it would just be looked over as another average slasher flick.
I still back Zombie 100%, he is one of the better directors that have surfaced recently in the genre, but I didnt feel this movie was nearly as strong as Devils Rejects

But I tell ya what. House of Wax is a pretty easy one. You oughta give it a try, just to get a look at Rob Zombie's work. It's pretty badass.

Re: Halloween
you gotta get in on that action, Devils Rejects is amazing, people have dubbed it "Gore-no" stating that the new gore films are no better tha porno, but the story and character development in the film are far superior to any recent horror flicks. Zombie is able to take despisable characters and make them empathetic, and take a righteous cop and demonize him. Through in an awesome soundtrack, scenes that even make the most die hard horror fan feel uncomfortable, and over the top humor and you have one of the most amazing horror flicks in the last 10-20 years with a vintage 70s feel to it. you can probably buy the dvd on half.com for a couple bucks, i guarantee you will enjoy it if you liked Halloween!

Re: Halloween
i cant help but sneak this in but I got to meet Rob and Sheri Moon Zombie as well as almost the entire cast of Devils Rejects at the horror convention three years ago, hes actually one of the most down to earth people ive ever met and very dedicated to the genre, so that didnt hurt his reputation in my eyes

Re: Halloween
I saw it when it first came out in the theaters. Halloween is one of the best horror movies to date and even though I liked Rob Zombie's Halloween and his re-make I would still prefer the John's Carpenders original Halloween in 1978. The original movie is based on suspense and it's not gore at all, this remake shows a lot of swearing and some comedic stuff. I'd give it 6 out of 10.
