    Re: A new country???

your dad is pobobly a bright guy...looks like he raised you pretty well. so he's done something right....mighta shoulda come to grips with your herritage a little more...he'd be proud of that i'm sure, lol. i'm more irish than cherokee and i'm proud of that too...sorry. and yes, you can pick and choose what to hold pride in. some people of proud of there job, the school they went too...all kinds of shyt. gotta have pride in something bro. i just think your not looking deep enough.

"The handouts are the initial problem but it's dependency that I think could be the ultimate problem. When your whole income and discounted lifestyle is tied to your tribe. What would happen when you suddenly came to a belief that you did not like the tribe, the environment, the criteria for your benefits, the culture, the people, the bureaucracy, etc. The tribe is all you've ever known but your sick of it and your current lifestyle outside of the tribe would be unobtainable. You hate your dependency on the tribe but you would equally hate the idea of an inferior lifestyle outside of the tribe. No matter what tribe your talking about, this could be a common crossroad for the individual Indians in them; put their pride of heritage on that same decision and it just compounds it; now they would feel shame for even considering leaving the tribe. "

yea...ummm...this sounds like your reaching bro. it dont make sence. if looked into, i bet the high rate of all that shyt is more in the poorer tribes. we (cherokee's) dont really qualify for much. a little college money, maybe a little help on a biz loan, so for me to understand the hardships that alot of the different nations endure is difficult, and for you to assume that the fortunate tribes, the ones that make all the jing...the multi-billion dollar tribes have tribel members commiting suicide and all drug heads, seems pretty far fetch. i understand you over all argument...if you give someone everything they wont appreciat blah, blah, blah...i just dont buy it. you talking about a race of people, not some spoiled debutant who lost daddy credit card privledge!

lmao..."...you dont like the tribe"...woke up one day and just didnt like those fukers anymore!!! your funny

It's just like any other relationship, individuals change. It's time to move on - yet people are so dependent on it, leaving would be very difficult.

people that want to leave, leave all the time!! i dont know that you really understand the whole reservation, indian thing...they dont ALL got it so great. the ones that do, for the most part, are happy as a pig in shyt. those ones that do want to leave, from those tribes, grab all the loot they can and bail. and, from my experience, they can come back whenever they want. most still get some trible $!!! the poorer tribes...those are the sad cases...i'm betting those are the suicide statistic indians. the ones that education wasnt a very good option. the ones that live in trailors, poverty stricken...the ones that hold on to the indian thing out of some kind of sence of responcibility or are just to scared. kinda like some of the tribes (people) in the ghetto...they may want out, but dont know better...and like the poor indians (of which you were NOT refering too), the people in the ghetto's probobly hold a little higher rate of drug abuse and suicide! would you agree that folks in the projects, the ghetto's, have a higher rate of suicide and drug abuse than sububanites?...if so...do you think it's becouse of all the great shyt that is thrusted upon the by the government? all the handouts?
