This **** is unacceptable!!!!! Why the hell are we letting these Chinese fukers get away with this? There is a real simple solution.....make the toys in Mexico. Let's see, it will reduce costs because it won't have to cross the biggest ocean on the planet, it will reduce immigration and it will boost Mexico's economy. That's a win-win for both of us. We should tell Chine to go fuk themselves and give the work to Mexico. It's clear that China doesn't give a **** about the safety of our kids. So, I say fuk them!!!!!!

Re: Report: 35 percent of toys contain lead
you know t...that is a very sensible idea..i wish somebody that made these decisions would think about that..we could get labor a virtually the same cost..even if it was a bit higher it would still end up being cheaper...get wal-mart on this and i bet everyone hops on board...

Re: Report: 35 percent of toys contain lead
it's not really "our" decission to give to mexico or not. i agree, it's a fantastic ideal, but the individual corporations make that call! i dont think it'll change unless we, the americans, as a solid group, boycott retail stores that carry toy's made in china. and, unfortunatly, we, as americans, are too fukin lazy NOT to shop at walmart, meijer, sams club and the like. we (americans) wont make a giant efort, as a group, to affect a change. we'll just keep rolling in, like the sheep we are, and offer up our kids......HE WHO MAKES A BEAST OF HIMSELF, GET'S RID OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN!!

Re: Report: 35 percent of toys contain lead
Dave, that's exactly it. The fact that there is a company out there doing thorough testing is going to get some people thinking. If sales drop or recalls keep climbing, these companies will be forced to find an alternative. Mexico just makes the most sense. Let's face it, have any of you ever been to a flea market and try to negociate with a Chinese person? They will down play what you have and act completely insulted if you down play what they have. I know it's not all Chinese and I appologize if that statement offended anyone, but that's just my experience and so for me, it's a fact. Also, based on 'my' personal experience, I've never had any work done by a Latin American be bad, ever! Also, these are our neighbors. What the heck does China do for us? Nothing. If this country was ever invaded, do you think China would help? Hell no! But, Canada and Mexico would because the backlash would carry over to them. Our loyalty should be to Canada and Mexico in terms of things like this. England and Austrailia are obvious allies, but again you have the shipping issue. So, it only makes more sense to have to truck these items into the US that ship them all the way across the Pacific or Atlantic. With enough boycotts, this could happen. Mexico would be forever thankful because their economy would improve and they wouldn't have to risk coming here for work.

Re: Report: 35 percent of toys contain lead
Or, we could just start putting lead in the **** we send them. Then we can say "We'll stop doing it when you stop doing it. Now, enjoy your Fruit Loops with lead you fukers."
China is the #1 polutant in the world. They had this show on discovery channel the other night about all the polutants in the Chinese rivers and lakes that effect their own people. When word got out this was being recorded, the Chinese police came out. Apparently, the word Polution is a very unspoken word over there. The stuff they do to their own people to make money is just sick. So, you can rest assured they don't give a flying fuk about us. The Chinese just flat out don't care. So, fuk 'em, take away our imports and let Mexico have them. That will make China fall back a couple decades. They are hainging on by a thread as it is, so cut it. Most of the polutants in the ocean come from China too. So, not only are they poisoning the worlds kids, they are poisening the worlds adults too with the stuff the dump in the ocean. If China were to disappear, the world would become a better place, evironmentally speaking that is. The put more stuff in the air, water and ground than any other country by a pretty good amount. They just don't care and that's a problem for the entire world.

Re: Report: 35 percent of toys contain lead
I agree if it was possible they should punish these manufacturers through boycott etc. The problem is and maybe many of us do not realize it but Chinese business has a huge investment in the American economy, therefore they have a major say in where our products get manufactured. That will be the real challange!

Re: Report: 35 percent of toys contain lead
True and the point was made earlier in the thread that we are all lazy in Canada and the US. Walmart etc if they felt consumer outrage than they would have to respond. I do like the idea of investing in Mexico though that would be an intelligent idea for many reasons. The first being proximity, the next that it would help build the mexican economy improve their standards of living and help the US with the illegal immigration that is so rampant. So how do we get this started?

Re: Report: 35 percent of toys contain lead
LOOOOOOOOOL
guys, I deal with China everyday now and let me tell you something.
Corporation X who wants his new GI Joe toy figurine to be made, well it sent out his requirements, find the manufacture that will deal with them and send all specs and design. The manufacture sends out sample, and the company says ok, lets go for it.
IT IS NOT THE CHINESE THAT DESIGN them.
the AMERICAN or EUROPEAN COMPANY KNOW TOO WEEL that the paint on their toys HAS LEAD IN IT!!!!!! THEY ARE THE ONE doing the specs and so on, not the Chinese.
The Chinese get a model, a plan, etc.. they do according asked by their boss, and they get **** on.
The company then blame China for this, it is pure utterly bull**** guys!!!!!
Lead free paint is 1% more expensive,
for a company like mattel 1% = hundred of million!
here the truth!three doodoo is back! Hide your women!
