Well, electricity does not just disipate. We have figured out how to kinda harness it and control it but electricity has no ending. It doesn't just disipate. It travels. We don't even know what electricity does when it travels...like what it does in the conductor...how it moves. There's a flux field, your poles, polarity, does our electricity enter a giant flux around the earth? Who knows? We might find out when it leaves our bodies. There are many particles within this electricity. This electricity is how information is passed. Will it still contain the information we've learned???
I saw a Star-Trek like that once, where there was a minute measurable amount of energy that re-emerged with the planets energy field after this alien died.
My opinion is we are an open system that requires an energy source to live, cut the adapters (our organ systems that convert outside energy sources) and its not that our bodies electricity dissipates but in a sense we become unplugged. Any small amount of energy that our body still possess will be salvaged by the earth. Kind of like the swampy vegetation that eventually gave us coal.
So, there isn't a purpose to human life, right? Its just what the individual makes of it. Nature went through this incredibly complex chemical process to evolve humans so we can learn from each other..that's the purpose of life? Sounds pretty weak to me.
Now, as to my second question, you seem to waver somewhat. You posit, naturally, that our bodies return to the ecosystem to power future life-forms (this I believe). However, you state that if there is a "good god", then he or she would probably have mercy and be kind, even if we have spent our lives stating he or she does not exist, denying them, living as we fallible, ignorant humans want to live, as long as we were good guys (good guys defined by ourselves). The Bible says that the only way to the Father is through Jesus. Was Jesus foolish in making this statement? I dont understand your foolish or scary comment. If there is a God, do you think he will care one whit that you are scared in the end? After all the chances He has given you, the fact that you claim to have studied His word, yet still deny Him? In the end, my friends, the fact is that if you knew about Jesus Christ, if you knew about the Bible, and what God's expectations were of us in this life, and you have still denied His existence and rebelled against Him, things will be much worse for you. You were given a fair chance, knowing what was expected, and you chose to rebel. God is a loving God, but He is a righteous and jealous God. So, I will ask again, what if you are wrong?
oh....thats where i come in. i promised klash i'd put in a good word (me and J.C. is kinda tight) and see if i can hook him up (dont forget the "klash" hat bro), mandarb is just gonna have to grab on to his shirt tail and try to get past the bouncer with him...i think i can swing it.
HE WHO MAKES A BEAST OF HIMSELF, GET'S RID OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN!!

J.C.? LOL
To answer PL456 question though.
The "what if your wrong" question, kept me from admitting to myself that I was a non-believer for a short while but the more you study, analyze and think about western religion, the more you put yourself in contradiction with the western gods restrictions on blind faith. The tree of knowledge could not be a more accurate analogy. The more knowledge you have about Christianity, it's origins, the character of god, etc. the more doubt you will have and to keep true with the analogy the more ashamed you will be to have been part of it.
But the doubts and shame do not compare to the strength of the dogma engraved upon your psyche and the social pressure of your environment to maintain the course of religious doctrine. So, you may try to lie to yourself that you love and believe in this Christian god that you doubt and even if he did exist you would despise but once you have obtained a certain degree of knowledge you cannot erase it. Remember though the idea of your god will not let you live a lie - god is omniscient. If you are repulsed by his (fictitious) character and doubt his existence, your idea of an omniscient god dictates your going to hell anyway. So from a Christian's perception you are pre-destined for hell; so be yourself.
So all that to answer "what if I'm wrong?" I'm not wrong but even giving you the hypothetical that I could be; I could never serve a sadistic, bigoted god in good conscience, no matter what he threatens.
Just something to think about. The "what if your wrong" question could be used against everyone. It is not more likely that a god would punish those who lived in contradiction to reason (the way he created us) and reward those who resisted faith. If there was a god that would make more sense to me.
what if you see it as just another day, but a particularly good one because you get to see your family and eat good food and relax? no religious attachment whatsoever.
i said it before..thanksgiving is not meant as a religious holiday to begin with..if you choose to include religion for some reason fine..
to tell the truth...i never associated it with religion either...for some reason.
(oh, klash.....J.C. = Jesus Christ..didnt really expect ya to know that, but you might want to keep it in the back of your head for...well, you know...it'd be nice if you knew that when the time comes. jeez...i'm gonna be trying to hook ya up and your gonna be all "thanks j.r.!" or some shyt! dont fuk me up with my homie bro...him and his ol' man has a rep for swinging a big stick!))

LMAO, oh I thought J.C. was some singer in a gay band and you were fantasizing again, with mandarb and bouncer included some how.

Yes disipate means to literally disperse into smaller amounts to whatever is around it air etc. The first law of physics is that energy cannot be created or destroyed, so the question is not whether or not energy continues to exist but rather does the energy that makes up our thought process (who we are essentially) continue on in some form that allows our conciousness to continue to exist.

Haha leave me out of it! I don't want anything to do with gay bouncers....or was it JC or a gay band.......sorry I lost track of what the insinuation was about. lol
Just to clarify I'm not implying Jesus was gay and in band.
Relative trivia in order for joke to land.
You know J.C. with N'sync
I can't believe I remember the name of one of the members of N'sync's. Mother Phucker, I can recall three of there names. I think this joke may be backlashing.
