what car would you get

my lease is up in a few months and im thinking of buying a car thats a few years old..I want something nice just need some opinions..thinking of financing something with 30-45k miles (due to my price range) and spend in between $17-20k..Right now im thinking 03 audi a6, 03-04 G35, or maybe an acura..Im not that knowledgable when it comes to cars, just want something nice that wont have problems everyday.What do you guys think, any other options?More concerned with looks and something that will last rather than performance/speed.thanks

I like the G35. Nice cars. They are quick, classy, and reliable. Just make sure you test it before you buy it.

Take it out for a test, run it to about 500 rpms under redline in 2 or 3 gears. Then bring it back. If the engine starts stuttering and shaking in the steering wheel etc don't buy it. I picked out many a lemon doing that!

Also look for damaged interior pieces. Detailers can make a complete beat to trash car look like brand new. But they can't hide broken stuff. That's the best way to tell if a car has been trashed.

Those to things should help you sufficiently.

I haven't heard to many complaints about Acura's even though I hate them.

Audi's are trash reliability wise. They get a black dot every year in Consumer Reports for a reason.

ok..im leaning towards the g35 actually rather have the coupe but its a little too pricey.

Yeah you can pick up an 05 for a little over what you wanted, but it's worth it because the car is more refined and has worked out all the bugs by then.

you cant really go wrong with either the infinity or the acura if that what you like. there both good cars. (me personaly would jump all over a 05 mustang gt with low miles, but i'm sure that's no surprize)

I concur only because I was bit by the mustang bug. But I didn't mention that because he wanted class and reliability not speed......although the G35 is about as fast as a stock New Edge (1999-2004) Mustang GT. It's more of a drivers race between the two!

Solid although I'll kick myself for saying this because I hate them so much.....Have you seen the new Accord Sedan & Coupe coming out this year? They are pretty badazz looking. Also the new Altima Coupe is pretty nice looking.

I've been in the car business and have driven most everything out there on the road and on track. The G35 is pretty good all around(basically a 350z)

BEFORE you buy an audi seriously look at a g35 or if you want a great four door l@@k at an Acura TL ...you could get an 04 for around 19-22k. Killer car but not very sporty compared to the 350z or G35. But they all run on premium and I don't know how much you commute. I think the acura runs on 87 the last time I drove on a few years ago but don't quote me. I'd also check insurance on them and figure that in as part of the cost of ownership.

but for a about 10k more you could get a 05 Lotus Elise with about 20k miles on it and I've got 38 on the highway with one and they are killer if you do track days. but there is no room inside them or no much of a trunk but...

no...i havent seen either, but i would be very suprised to find myself saying anything positive about them looks wise. i'm not a fan of jap. styling, even a little! i dont like there interiors and hate there lines. but, i guess they could wake up one day and built an appealing car....stranger things have happened (like ford over taking toyota in customer satisfaction and reliability!)

i'd almost warn you to shy away from an audi....the g35 and the acura's are good cars, but i've seen my share of prob's with the audi and those prob's dont come cheap on those cars

i agree with daved150, i have several friends that are audi dealers and repairs are not cheap on those cars especially once they get out of warranty. All of my buds that have them love them but they don't like the cost of ownership of the audi or bmw's

thanks for the opinions..dj i went to look at the altima coupe for a lease, they wanted like 400 a month for it, rediculous..ive limited it down to the g35 or an acuraTL.
