Ok gang,
I got my paperwork to complete for my new job and the application asks several things and I'm curious about some of them.
1. When they contact my previous employer's what information can my previous employer's give them in regards to work, salary etc.?
2. What other means can they verify employment and salary.
There is also this....
I authorize investigation of all statements contained in this application including the review of my credit history, review of my criminal records(if any), and any other inquiries which may be necessary in arriving at an employment decision... I ... give the company persmission to contact schools, previous employers(unless otherwise indicated), reference, and others, and hereby release the company from any liablility as a result of such contact. I understand that any false, incomplete, or misleading information will be grounds for rejection of this application or, subsequently discovered, grounds for termination.
So is just that just a blanket policy that covers their arse?
And it continues...
I understand that, in connection with the routine processing of the employment application, the company may request from a consumer reporting agency an investigative consumer report including information ast to my credit records, character, general reputation, personal characteristics, and mode of living. Upon written request from me, the company, will provide me with additional information concerning the nature of the scope of any such report requested by it, as required by the fair credit reporting act.
So am I getting a full blown background check on me and where could they get this information especially salary reports. I think that is a personal matter.
Any thoughts?
