  • Well, screwed myself again

I'm pretty sure I tore my right rotator. I had the left one scoped about 7 years ago, it had bone spurs and torn rotator. I got an appt. for next Fri. with the Ortho. This **** sucks royal AAASSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! My right arm/shoulder is hangin lower than the left, and is slightly rotated inward. It happened last week when I was benchin. Things were goin really good too, I was towards the end of my workout and had 365 on the bar, around the 5th rep it felt like somethin was wrong so I stopped. It wasn't an unbearable pain but enough to get my attn. The next day, it started hurtin like hell, and hasn't stopped since.

well I will hope for the best for ya bro, My left shoulder is lower than my right and turns in just slightly more too. I had a C5 disc in my neck pinch my left shoulder nerve center causing permanent damage. Doc said I'd be at least 30% weaker in that arm...he was wrong its fine maybe a tad weaker but not noticeable. shoulders are wierd boss you could have pinched a nerve, strained the cuff, strained a support muscle around the tendon...etc etc bottom line ICE ICE ICE, lots of ibprofen, and if you have access to on a tens unit (electric pulse) this will help alleviate nerve damage, pinches, etc. good luck!

Yup, the shoulder is one complex biotch! I've been icing it down, prolly not as much as I should be though but I've damn sure been poppin ibuprofin like m&m's. Maybe Dave and O2 are right, I should switch to the pink weights for a little while, lol!

                  Re: Well, screwed myself again

Damn bro, that really sucks! This is why I gave up heavy stuff so long ago. Sure, every now and then I may do some 4's or 5's but I never go past that. It's just a matter of time before the stress gets some of us. Yeah, there are some strong sob's out there with no probs, well, I'm not one of them so I don't try to keep up with them. I know how hard it is to tell someone not to do what they love. After last year's Achilles tear everyone told me not to play football anymore. Well, I am, I just show up 30 minutes before everyone else to warm up stretch and jog. By the time we start to play, I'm completely warmed up and all stretched out. But, I still won't puch off as hard as I can, I go about 80% when running but I play center so I don't have to run much. It may be time to go a different direction with weight training my brotha.
I used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.

                      Re: Well, screwed myself again

If you've got the same great insurance I do, our local hospital isn't on their network.

I was at my year physical a couple of weeks ago. I told my doc about the tendentious in my elbow and ask for a Rx for Celebrex. He didn't have a problem writting me a Rx. My insurance turned it down and it took them a week to get back to the pharmacist. They decided to give me naproxen instead. I've been taking it for a couple of months now and it's not helping. That's why I wanted the Celebrex, so I had to pay out of pocket for the Celebrex... $80 for 30 pills!

Pretty much the same deal here. The hospital is in network but the ER docs that they contract aren't. How much sense does that make? I also had a thing with my ins. co. over a dr. bill not too long ago. Apparently they had him down twice, Dr. Tom Mann and Dr. T. Mann, Tom was covered but T was not. I got billed under T so I had to go back and forth with the office and the damn ins. co. for a couple of weeks before that got taken care of. I absolutely hate dealin with that kinda ****.

I don't agree with socialism at all but something has to be done with our medical system. My boys in the military say Germany has a good system?

I agree 6. I don't pretend to know the answers but our healthcare system needs serious reform and I don't think socialist healthcare is the answer either.

Now that's a bunch of bull crap.

Same here... don't have any answers, but socialist heath care isn't it. No one likes being told which doctors or meds they can or can't got to.

For the past 7 years the insurance I have through the company I work for, only had one Gyn-ob on the network. She is truly the worst doc in town. I've heard nothing but bad stuff about her since I moved here 15 yrs ago. None of us would go to her. We all went to doctors in other towns that were in our net, because she is so bad. This is anywhere between 20 to 30 miles away from where we live to see a doctor... when there are very good doctors right in town.
