My family is well insured. I have great insurance and am happy as can be with it. Mine will pay 80% for out of provider list e.g.- male hormone clinics without question, quickly...check in the mail within 10 days of claim. There are insurance companies that try not to pay those and straight up turn claims down for going outside provider. Insurance companies and plans have to be chosen more carefully. Whose fault is that?

The healthcare system has issues that need to be tackled, that's for sure.

well as oprah said no matter how you view him you need to see sicko. My mom in law is in charge of a nurse union and they paid to have all their nurses see it and they thought it was very important that everyone sees it, b/c it is dead on how the system has a denial process

My sister in law works for a major insurance company and here's the policy...deny EVERYTHING over a certain price the first time. I forget what the dollar amount is, but they do that intentionally because so many Americans are stupid and just pay it themselves in stead of fighting the insurance company. She said that if it's resubmitted, then they will pay but never on the first time. It's the fault of stupid Americans that let them do this. Now, my wife worked for them too when we first got married and she worked in customer service so she knows all the ins and outs of it too but not to the detail of my sister in law. So, when my insurance company tries to pull some crap, my wife is right up their ass with a copy of the policy in hand and they always fix it. I'm telling you guys, they will try to deny things all the time just to see if you are stupid enough to pay for it. No matter what, we always make our doctors offcie submit EVERYTHING twice before sending us a bill. They have told us of several occassions that they paid the second time. Insurance is worse than the Mobsters. It's legal theft and it's total BS. But, would I want the government to be in charge of it? Hell no!

That's exactly the conversation I had the other day with someone. They said that you sometimes have to resubmit 3 and 4 times before they pay but this person, who is a nurse, said that they will pay. Some companies you just have to show them you ain't fukin around.

right..it would be great if our gov't ran competent departments, but they don't, plus universal healthcare is another step towards socialism..we just need a healthy free trade economy..If our economy was really thriving then all major business' would be able to provide healthcare..watch the ron paul video in my sig, he explains how we dont need socialized medicine to have benefits available in a healthy economy.

dave-think u may have read my post wrong? what rp says about it is opposite of moores resolution (no socialization of healthcare)..i think sicko was good to watch just to see how ****ed up the insurance companies are, its educational in that aspect among others..but he doesnt even mention taxes the whole movie which is rediculous because we would have to do this to have universal healthcare..imo less govt the better, theyve proved to be incompetent when it comes to running organizations like fema,and just look at the conditions of our veterans hospitals that are run by the gov't.. not to mention all the money that would be stolen and wasted.

i didnt miss read. i was stating that i was intrested in what rp has to say about it. then, i made the comment about the fat boy. i gotcha bro. i agree that the government should keep there mit's off it. canada has one of the worst health system i've ever heard of. i know MANY canadian up here...they all say it's ****!

ok,got ya -just making sure..when i was on my last trip i met some canadians.They didnt have many complaints but said when it comes to surgery there could be a long waiting list..Generally speaking I think it may come down to whos in office,democrats want more of a socialized society including welfare and healthcare.

guys the long waiting list is a propagande thing here in the media in canada.

No one, I know, friends family waited more than 3 weeks for a sugery and I mean it goes from knee surgery to major ones.

but, what I dislike it that here in Quebec, 52% of your income is paid in taxes, plus all the other **** taxed you have to pay. 70% of that amount goes for healthcare.

so american with private insurance PAYS LESS than an average couple in Canada...........

and no one ever mentions it, yes the basic of healthcare for everyone is honorable, but sometime there is a price. Me I am more for a two system both private and public and the people going private way, their taxes should be adjusted correctly, but we all know public servants right...... god bless Cuba

as for socialized medicine it sucks. my english friends go to spain for surguries and anything above a normal procedure and everyone of my canadian friends comes stateside for big procedures as well.
well i hope the mad ma'am president gets us healthcare so fat fuks like Michael Moore will have to loose weight or they might have to pay a penalty. he could do me a favor and move his arse to france.
there are fixes to our health care but until we vote in people who actually will vote for reform and make it more affordable without compromising the system then we will continue to move towards socialized medicine. if we just make all the illegals legal and start having them pay up for their share of free emergency room visits then that would be a great start in lowering premiums.

so funny...healthcare has more customers than it knows what to do with and yet it is losing money? What business do you know of can have all the customers it can ever need (or serve) and still lose money. The fact is we ALREADY have partially-socialized medicine. Medicare holds the purse strings, other major insurers follow medicare guidelines. Those with the money control the system. The healthcare orgazinations are not the problem. The purse-holders are the problem. Medicare is killing the system, period. When hospitals are reimburse 28 cents on the dollar, something is wrong. Dems want socialized medicine because they want votes---poor people who cannot afford healthcare will get it from the DEms--Bush vetoed S-CHIP b/c it was a step towards socialized medicine (a good veto, IMO). Dems dont care about your health--they want your vote. Oh, and Hillary was going to give $5000 to every baby born in the USA..that's called buying votes early.
