Because he caters to those with the same logic. No offense, but when you grow up in a severe ghetto, education is exactly a priority. So, many of those that follow him are not educated enough to see the difference and those who are educated enough just support him because he is for the Black agenda. I'm not saying there shouldn't be people supporting Blacks, that's not what I'm saying at all. It would be better for everyone if it was a better person. I hate to say it, but Martin Luther King Jr would be sick to his stomach is he were here to day and be able to see the killings the Black commit amongst themselves. It's like Chris Rock said "I'm so sick and tired of Black people saying it's all the medias fault. Hey, when I'm at the ATM I'm not looking over my shoulder for Ted Coppel, I'm looking over my shoulder for N's". He goes on and on about how some Black Americans do more damage to other Black Americans by their actions that white people ever could and it's true. Between murder and drugs, Black America is doing more damage to Black America than anything else. But, you don't see Al Sharpton talking about that, do you? Of course not, because it requires ownership of responsibility and he doesn't want that. He doesn't want Black America to be more responsible because who they are now is why he even has a voice. If Black America took a stand for itself and got drug dealers off the streets and gang violence reduced they wouldn't need Al Sharpton. So, he avoids the obvious problems and makes mountain out of mole hills to divert the attention.
